in contrast, I can think of ~so many~ inappropriate responses...

Sigh.

Husband home sick in bed.

Car making funny noises (oh well, with Talon sick I can take his car)

Cold, cold, cold. And I feel kind of sick too.

It’s clearly Monday.

Heh...there was a reason why my request for pictures said “when you get them” and not “if.” ;-)

Have you seen the Monster.com “don’t fight Monday” commercial?

Nope, no commercials in our household... are they funny?

I don’t see many commericals either, but caught this last night. You can watch it on YouTube.

Heh...I was too distracted by the music to really notice what was going on until the end. Whatever that piece is, it’s nice.

There’s a cordless dill on Craigslist this morning.

I’ve always wanted one of those...

I saw the pic of your table and placemats and stuff. VEY nice! And I’m glad you got your faucet fixed. Hopefully you can get the landlord to fix some of the other stuff too. And don’t feel bad about it being cruddy. It was worse than that when you moved in.

He didn’t seem all that interested in the problems I tried to point out with the stove and oven. :-\ So I dunno. He isn’t a great listener, as I said.

I guess sometimes I just feel stuck...there aren’t a lot of places with the advantages I have (being out of the way, big yard for thedog, etc.) without them being a LOT more expensive. Like...twice what I’m paying now. To rent a decent house with a yard...you almost *have* to have a room mate. And that can be tricky, ya know? I’d try to talk my sister into coming out here, but that’s not really a valid solution.

Heaven forbid you get stuck in another situation like you had in Colorado...

I don’t think there are any more available Hobbit Holers I can con into paying half the rent, though... ;-)

And with the dog, I can’t very well move into another Mr. Beepy complex style place.

Heh...I know.

Too bad you couldn’t land another spot like you had back home and buy you a little piece of land.

Yeah...houses cost a lot more here. :-\ My place in Vermont (small, but it was decent!) cost under 50k. Nothing even approaching that here. Not to mention it'd be darned near impossible to save up a down-payment right now.

So I'm just...frustrated right now. What would be ideal is finding something nicer (if smaller) for about the same price...so I could start socking something away. Especially if the heating costs and all were lower, which they would be for a place even slightly more efficient.

But I don't think that's possible. So it's a dilemma.

Ugh, you had to mention Mr. Beepy, didn’t you?

You could always find a roommate on Craigslist...

Er...yeah, I could try.

Most of the ones on there right now are kooky, though. Like this one:

I am looking for another dependable, settled person to live with me. Male is preferred, but I’m open. I suspect you wear fall colors, and leave a small footprint. Please indulge in minimal drug use and be willing to invest in the household’s well-being (including helping buy birdseed).
