He didn’t seem all that interested in the problems I tried to point out with the stove and oven. :-\ So I dunno. He isn’t a great listener, as I said.
I guess sometimes I just feel stuck...there aren’t a lot of places with the advantages I have (being out of the way, big yard for thedog, etc.) without them being a LOT more expensive. Like...twice what I’m paying now. To rent a decent house with a yard...you almost *have* to have a room mate. And that can be tricky, ya know? I’d try to talk my sister into coming out here, but that’s not really a valid solution.
Heaven forbid you get stuck in another situation like you had in Colorado...
Yeah, you’re kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place. I guess all you can do is to keep on trying with the landlord. Or if he just doesn’t cooperate at all then just do the things that you can do yourself and write it off as an a necessary expense to maintain your sanity. Maybe you could try to get a semi-decent used stove/oven, and if nothing else you could either move it with you when you moved or resell it on Craigslist.
I had roommates during and after college but we all went broke, so they’re back with family and I’m here alone.
