If the Buckeyes get blown out by LSU, then the best conferences this year were probably SEC, Pac10, Big East.

Other than USC the PAC 10 is weak. Don't forgot ASU got destroyed by an average Texas team and Cal barely came back to beat Air Force after Air Force's QB went down with a torn ACL early in the 3rd quarter. SC is a great team and Oregon was great before Dixon was hurt, otherwise the PAC 10 is lame this year.

I admit that I was surprised when my alma mater destroyed Oregon State early this past season. They were supposed to be better by virtue of being in the Pac10.

Nonetheless, there are some really solid programs: USC, UCLA, Arizona, Cal.

That’s a good solution. In fact almost ANYTHING is less psychotic than what we have now!

All year long if a team was say #4 and 2 or even 3 teams above them lost, naturally they moved up. But not the very last weekend for Georgia.

No sir.

You see then the goalposts are moved and the reasoning is they didn’t play in the SEC championship.

Ok...neither did Ohio State. Oh wait, they don’t even HAVE one.

So why was Georgia ranked so high if that’s the criteria?

Oh wait, that’s NOT part of the criteria! At least not until the final week when they’re scrambling to make sense of the non-sensical.

Auburn got jobbed what....3 years back? And now this, where a 2 loss team plays a 1 loss team for the whole ball of wax. Conf. championships come into play, schedule strength...and why not if red is in the team’s colors next?

We also hear excuses about the kids not being able to handle an additional playoff after the bowl games...

Ummmm....so what about the FIFTY-THREE days the buckeyes have been sitting on their hands waiting around to play LSU?

Keep the bowls. I like the tradition etc. But it doesn’t take a genius to incorporate a playoff system or what you just described! These bcs morons could have their cake and eat it too...more football, more money, everyone wins!

It could be a hybrid playoffs/bowls or even like regional college basketball for all I care.

But this is robbing everyone and serves no one but the BS...errrr BCS!

If this were a company, it’d be bankrupt by now and consumers would demand change YEARS ago!

USC should have been paired with LSU or Georgia.

WVU and Va Tech would have been awesome.

Ohio State vs. Oklahoma would have been OK IMO.

Hell, move the major bowls up 2 weeks and have bowl winners pair off and that way at least bad pairings come out in the wash!

And what if OSU beats LSU? They have to play it on the field. I was surprised WVU lost to Pitt, but stuff happens. Not a all surprised WVU beat the other OSU (or is Ohio State the other OSU)?

Ohio State was picked third in the Big Ten, behind Michigan and Wisconsin. Except for Penn St. and Purdue, did any Big Ten team get a bowl bid against a lower-ranked team? And according to Colley, it’s:
1. LSU vs. 5. Ohio State
7. Florida vs. 28. Michigan (35-41)
11. Boston Coll. vs. 39. Michigan St. (24-21)
12. USC vs. 19. Illinois (49-17)
17. Tennessee vs. 26. Wisconsin (21-17)
37. Texas A&M vs. 32. Penn St. (17-24)
48. Oklahoma St. vs. 56. Indiana (49-33)
63. Central Mich vs. 52. Purdue (51-48)

So far, the only upset has been Michigan. And LSU beating OSU would not be an upset. And Kansas, with only one loss, is playing VA Tech, which most computers had at #1. I pay marginal attention to the human voters, but do pay attention to point spreads.

So if Kansas finishes with only one loss, shouldn’t they be co-champions with Hawaii and (possibly) Ohio State?

I’d love the winner of VA Tech/Kansas play the winner of Ohio St./LSU. The winner would have no more than two losses, and everyone else (except Hawaii) would have at least two losses.

You meant Arizona St, right? Arizona is a sad, sad program led by one of the Stoops brothers.

Just got back into Tucson from the Fiesta Bowl - all my relatives from WV flew in for the game. What a BLAST! The Mountaineers still have some rough edges, but their defense tonite was amazing, and White is, frankly, scary to watch.

Had a wonderful time.

You are not giving the Buckeyes enough respect.

Like in 2002. We have to prove the world wrong again.

It was great to see a team thought of as having “died” when RR left to go to UM make an historic comeback. Goes to show that WVU and the Big East is to be taken serously by the rest of college football. Congrats!

Monday you have the opportunity as the Buckeyes to take down an SEC team, LSU and show the world that OSU is a serious college football team. Go for it!

"Congratulations to all the West Virginia fans on their teams great game."

Seconded. WVU showed up to play last nite.

I'm off to Soonerfans.com, where I'll spend the rest of the week offering constructive criticism to our coaching staff for our team's performance last nite.

I wrote this this morning in an attempt to ease my pain. To the tune of (what else?) “Oklahoma”.

CHOKELAHOMA

Chokelahoma where the players sleepwalk through the game, where passes are dropped and tackles are missed and the fans feel nothing but their pain.

Chokelahoma, where the coaches call the bonehead plays, the onside kick that goes 9 yards and runs up the middle for no gain.

Next year play our bowl game at home, cause we really look awful when we roam.

Here’s one more loss, we were supposed to win,

The biggest disappointment in football, Chokelahoma, again.

dfu. correct...he lost both parents to aids and then his best friend was killed. Dion Sanders wanted to adopt him but didn’t.

WV students would be ejected from the univ if caught burning couches this year...and no running on the field....they really clamped down on them this year...even tho Pitt copied and were burning couches last year after Super Bowl and this yrs win over WVU....copycats!

The announcers thought the WVU team were gonna lay down and die cause they were ‘suffering ‘ from ‘emotional hangover’ from Fraud leaving for Michigan.......please.....they were pissed and wanting to win real bad.

Fraudriguez told the team he would be honored to stay and coach.....Pat White told him NO....you are with Michigan now. He left the meeting
Coach Stu was a class act last night.....Rich Frauds name is chit!!!!!

WVU and the state of WV finally got some respect last night thanks to these great kids and their coaches........... and fans(my family made the trip)

“Other than USC the Pac-10 is weak.”

Do we have to go through this every year with you lame brains? I guess we do. First of all, Oregon was the best team in the Pac-10 this year and if QB Dixon doesn’t blow out his knee, they are your national champions. Once Oregon got a few weeks to prepare their 4th string quarterback for a bowl game, they absolutely blew out South Florida. Michigan didn’t even belong on the field with Oregon, but Michigan seemed to belong when playing against Florida and Ohio State. Secondly, if USC doesn’t sustain the incredible rash of injuries they had, they join Oregon as perhaps the top two teams in the country. Funny how nobody OUTSIDE the Pac-10 can ever beat (or even stay on the field with) USC, but the lowly Pac-10 teams somehow seem to compete pretty well against them. Third, the Pac-10’s SEVENTH place team, Cal, blew out the SEC championship finalist Tennessee. 4th, UCLA, playing their 4th string QB because of injuries, and without a coach in their bowl game had a chip shot field goal blocked on the last play, otherwise they beat BYU, who won 11 games. Arizona State was probably the 5th best team in the Pac-10 this year before injuries turned the league upside down. Dennis Erickson did a great job rebuilding the team and some things went their way. But they do not have the talent that Texas has, which is why Texas was favored to win the bowl game against ASU.

I can go on and on, I can post the head-to-head conference results, the BCS bowl records, the NFL players by conference, none of it ever matters to the knee-jerk mindless, who refuse to challenge themselves to process information.

As a fan supporter of the Big East Conference ( Connecticut ), in which WVU also belongs, last night and today is a great day to be a fan of both WVU and the Big East Conference football. Thank-you WVU for making a little more humble OU! :)
