He loved the golds and yellows. When you read about him and read his letters you see a man that simply has too much inside of him! He would never be satisfied.

In his whole life, I think he sold only three paintings, for what would be less than a cup of Starbucks might cost you.

His works border the impressionist realm, but leave more than enough of the classical to see the struggles (and successes) of the subjects.

I’ve always found his times and circumstances deeply moving.
