In this undated photo provided by Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, a rare 24-cent stamp depicting an upside-down airplane is shown. The 1918 stamp depicts a Curtiss JN-4 'Jenny,' a World War I training aircraft that became an airmail plane. A collector from New York has purchased the rare 24-cent stamp depicting the upside-down airplane for $825,000, according to Heritage Auction Galleries. (AP Photo/Heritage Auction Galleries)

There was one sheet of them and it was eventually broken up to sell them individually. There are some blocks of 4 from the sheet. I imagine they would go for a huge amount.

U.S. Air Force Museum
The JN-4D was ordered in large quantities by the U.S. Signal Corps and generally
used for primary flight training. A few were equipped with machine guns and bomb racks
for advanced training.

I mailed a letter with one, but it was returned because of insufficient postage.

Since the red ink was clearly printed after the blue, I would say the plane was printed correctly and the border is upside down.

Kinda takes away from the excitement.

Turned over, no discernible pilot.
Looks like the first UAV to patrol our southern border!

(Back in 1916 during the Mexican Expedition against Pancho Villa 9 Jenny's were sent as part of the 1st Aero Squadron)

Jenny, I got your number,
I need to make you mine.
Jenny, don’t change your number
Eight six seven five three oh nine...

Couldn’t help myself.
Great tune!
