NEW YORK - Lynne Spears' book about parenting has been delayed indefinitely, her publisher said Wednesday.
Lindsey Nobles, a spokeswoman for Christian book publisher Thomas Nelson Inc., said Wednesday that the memoir by the mother of Britney Spears was put on hold last week. She declined to comment on whether the delay was connected to the revelation that Spears' 16-year-old daughter, Jamie Lynn, is pregnant.
"I can tell you that we are standing behind Lynne and supporting her decision to be with her family at this time," Nobles told The Associated Press.
"Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World" was initially scheduled for release May 11, Mother's Day. Spears, the mother of three children with ex-husband Jamie Spears, had been working with a Michigan-based freelancer since March on the memoir chronicling Spears' experiences raising a family in the public eye.
Jamie Lynn Spears, star of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101" and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine in its new issue that she's expecting her first child and the father is boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
Nobles and representatives for Britney Spears said they did not know how Lynne Spears could be reached for comment about the status of her book.

The good news is Lynne was just named spokesperson for ‘We B Trailers!’ in Little Rock!
If Nickelodeon keeps her on that show I will be disappointed beyond words.
She probably has to rewrite a bit of her book after the recent news, or else add another chapter.
Is it really a “parenting book” ? That would be rich...
Maybe she could write a book for kids called “Bi-Curious George and the Curfew Clown Make Friends”.
She’ll probably be Time magazine’s Woman of the Year.
Have no idea why anyone would think she is a good role model for motherhood.

My wife has a suggestion for a new title that would allow the scheduled release with minimum hassle.
‘Pop Culture Mom; A Real Story of Raising Your Grandchildren in a Tabloid World’.
(I married up, as you can tell)
You’d think so?
Parenting advice from Brit and Jamie’s parent....
I’d prefer driving lessons from Stevie Wonder or Rosie O Donnell’s book on dieting and class.
The really pathetic part is that Thomas Nelson Books was supposed to publish this trash. I would have thought that they’d be a little bit more discerning than to offer a contract to the mother of a human train wreck and what looks like to be a really serious human car accident
Nope, I hear ya tho.
Lynne Spears’ parenting book title “Don’t Make the Same Mistakes I Made. Dos and and Don’ts for stage parents....
might work.
I have heard that asked a few times since the announcement.
Good question.
I am just going to forbid my kids from watching it.
Man, she was so cute — I was so hoping she received half an ounce of brains and wouldn’t go the same way as her sister.
Two words for Lynn Spears and her dysfunctional family.....
WHITE TRASH!!!!!!!!
Nickelodeon firing her would be a dumb move, leaves them open to a HUGE lawsuit. Most likely she will get a very large payment from Nickelodeon in exchange for he agreement not to sue for wrongful termination. I’m not sure what California laws are on maternity leave, but I assume they are rather nice for expectant mothers compared to other states.
16 is the age of consent in many states. Plus he’s only 19, and it’s unusual for a 3 year age difference to be considered staturory rape
