BE WARNED This website is not here to hurt Christians or convert anybody to anything

BE WARNED: This website is not here to hurt Christians or convert anybody to anything. Many Christians/others may find much to disagree with here as far as theology, but the purpose is to find a balance between reason and faith. I don't consider being a Deist, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, atheist, etc. a magic formula for "salvation" however defined or perhaps disbelieved. I do believe we all will be judged, both in this life and the next, by how we act and treat others. That we all have the free will to control our actions, and are as individuals responsible for our own actions. But I strongly resist anyone attempting to impose their religious beliefs on others or dragging them into politics. That means complete separation of religion (including secular pseudo religions), a private spiritual affair, from politics, an often corrupt worldly affair.

I believe there are absolute truths and in the general Jewish-Christian moral codes and western liberal democracy. I believe in God and science. If some material here sounds harsh and judgmental, I apologize and I'm working to change that. I claim no special insight or knowledge and have no wish, and in fact reject any idea of starting a "church" or organization. I believe the Bible, etc. do contain truths, but require careful thought and consideration. I certainly don't have all the answers. We are all human, we make mistakes, and that includes myself. Do the best you can.

This is a Deist/Unitarian website. I take a view of rational theism and a unified view of God often at odds with Paul's mostly Gnostic or "faith based" theology. I consider Christians and Jews in general good people that have contributed positively to American culture. There's a direct line for "Christians" from Apostle Paul's Christ to Marcion who invented the New Testament to St. Augustine to Martin Luther and John Calvin. Also read the following Thomas Jefferson on the Morals of Jesus.

At the demand of Media General (who bought out the Bristol Herald Courier) I have removed all of their material from this website and no longer act as an archive. They maintain no online archives. This website has undergone reconstruction and many of the articles that are being added or updated are below. One can e-mail me at lewis@sullivan-county.com with any questions.

The first several articles presented addresses the issue of left-wing bias in news reporting, etc. They are racists in the worse sense caring only for a political agenda and power. Racism is wrong, period, but facts are still facts. The simple fact is that refusing to deal with black crime often means black people suffer the most. Their children have to dodge the bullets and resist the drug dealers often on every corner. Then they have to deal with the backlash and fear all of this creates with whites. The majority are not criminals and often end up as pawns in other people's power games. I'd trust the typical black person over the typical white doctor or lawyer. I'm dead set against illegal immigration, but there's not a thing most illegal aliens do I wouldn't do myself to have a better life for my children. I worked security at a construction job where most of the workers were Hispanics, I suspected many were illegal. They were the hardest working and most honest individuals I'd ever seen. I hit it off with one named Louis, who taught me a person with a college degree, how to properly do drywall. (I was remodeling my own house because I couldn't afford to hire anyone.) He was my teacher and I'll never do drywall as well as he could. The fact was they couldn't find nobody to do this work even paying $12 an hour. A little respect works wonders.

Don't blame the typical Mexican farm or construction worker for this mess. Blame the exploitive business owner, lazy American on welfare, the political left trying to deconstruct and destroy our borders and culture. In particular blame everyone that wants a cheap gardener, nanny, or under-priced service or product produced by people in nasty jobs they have never worked or would never work themselves.

I don't want Louis deported, but I don't want or will tolerate Mexican flags on American streets or have my country reduced to a multicultural, socialist cesspool. The people behind this are not people like Louis, but those with a political agenda that wouldn't invite Louis home to dinner. Don't blame Louis and others. If I sound harsh with Mexicans, etc. I apologize, it isn't them.

There's also a lot material on this site regarding Muslims. Let me be clear it's Sharia Law and Saudi Wahhabism and related sects I oppose, not Islam or Muslims as such.

Something to keep in mind reading this material: The general Muslim faith doesn't advocate wanton murder of civilians and suicide is a mortal sin. 99% of Muslims are not terrorists. The use of terrorism was imported from Europe and in many cases the terrorist act has nothing to do with Islam.

Hello, my name is Lewis Loflin. I'm a 50-year-old veteran of the US Army and have been married for 23 years. I'm a small property owner, taxpayer, gun owner, and I even have a dog and several cats. I support America and our system of democracy, religious and personal freedom, science, secular government, and moderate capitalism. I'm also political independent and my hobbies are science, electronics, history, and religion. This page is constructed as a blog and addresses many issues. I'm a Deist/Unitarian. I reject both the Religious Right, radical Islam, and the extreme Left as threats to our freedoms and nation. The religious material on this website reflects that view

There is a collection of pro and con article all in one place so please don’t throw out the baby with the bath water!

This does not reflect my point of view but I think it makes for interesting awareness of others out there!

I reject . . . the Religious Right . . . as [a] threat[s] to our freedoms and nation.

The guy is a clown, plain and simple.

Moral equivalence is the stock in trade of idiots.

What precisely is moderate capitalism? Why do you feel the need to reject the “religious right” and what is your definition of the “religious right”? If you are actually for what you say you are for, then the Democrat platform has no place for you while the republican platform agrees with you by about 99%. Why do you call yourself an independent?

http://www.sullivan-county.com/id3/killed.htm

[snip] Nazir Ahmed appears calm and unrepentant as he recounts how he slit the throats of his three young daughters and their 25-year old stepsister to salvage his family’s “honor” — a crime that shocked some in Pakistan. The 40-year old laborer, speaking to the Associated Press in police detention as he was being shifted to prison, said he had only one regret — that he didn’t kill the stepsister’s alleged lover too. Hundreds of girls and women are killed by male relatives each year in this conservative Islamic nation, and rights groups said Wednesday such “honor killings” will only stop when authorities get serious about punishing perpetrators... Ahmed said he killed his stepdaughter because she had committed adultery, and his daughters because he didn’t want them to do the same when they grew up. [end]

Yeah, that’s the same as wanting prayer in public school.

Why can’t you read what other in this world is doing with out castigating on others, because you don’t like what you read.

I already stated in post #2 it is not my point of view.

Which part of that don’t you understand?

I didn’t castigate anyone or anything. I asked questions. You did not specify in your original post, which I took the time to read, that this was not in fact you. Had you done that I would have merely put the question to the blogger but the questions would have remained. Why is it that you think asking questions of a bloggers stated opinion is somehow wrong? What is the point of posting if it isn’t to stimulate conversation?

Ha! LOL.....

You opened yourself up to be attacked by this group of political jackals. They don't think very much and what you are asking them to do is far too painful for them.....LOL....

But have a nice day anyway....and try to retain your sense of humor. You will need it for the decade that is coming like a huge ominous storm.

a huge ominous storm.

Ominous would mean there were omens. There are, but when the storm breaks it would be omenated rather than ominous.
