Martin Scorsese’s “Last Waltz” about The Band was an amazing piece of work. I doubt this will eclipse it. But who knows until it is is out..

I collect music concerts, movies and documentaries. I still have some “out of print” ones on VHS My The Waltz dvd is the only one I actually threw away. Well, I sold it at a garage sale for a buck.
I really WANTED to like it. It was too pretentious to bear.

Yeah, if Shine a Light comes anywhere close to The Last Waltz I'd be mighty surprised. First of all The Band was at (or near) the top of their game -- still in their 30s. Secondly they're better musicians than the Stones. ...and were a much better live band. And lastly The Band's guest list in Nov. of '76 was second to none.
