I found a 3 inch spear tip in perfect condition made of flint or some other white-copper colored stone in the sand on the beach on Daufuskie Island across from Hilton Head about 14 years ago. Its bigger than that one. Its wrapped in bubble wrap in my upstairs dresser drawer. Grandma Norma was pissed I didn’t give it to her for her collection. My son takes it to show and tell.

I’ve always believed there was nothing inferior about these people—and that probably they were smarter than us. I find points, and scrappers and blades in the area where I live. I find shards of pottery with etched designs.

We live on the pinnacle of civilization where it seems everything has been invented. But 15 or 20,000 years ago a man had to use his brain, his senses and his physical strength to survive.

I've got a bunch of that stuff, and the largest spear points I have are 9 inches and 14 inches long, and the 14 incher is missing the notched base. I don't know what that guy's holding, but it sure doesn't look like a spear point.
