You did that on your own. Fifteen minutes after you began this Vanity thread in Chat forum you then began a duplicate Vanity thread in the News forum apparently after your not receiving enough attention from this thread.
Because this first Vanity thread was current and active, it was moved to the News forum to replace your duplicate second Vanity thread which was pulled and is referenced below.

Private conversations with moderators (vanity)

Sorry to post this in the news forum, but I'm having trouble getting a serious response in chat. Is there a standard procedure here for having a private conversation with a moderator?

I was receiving more attention than I wanted from this thread, but it was the wrong kind of attention. This thread was quickly degenerating into a taunt fest, and no one was answering my question, including the moderator who removed the other thread.

I’d explicitly said the reason I started the second thread was that I was having trouble getting a serious response in this one. I don’t understand why the moderator would respond by moving the taunt fest to the news forum rather than just answering my question.

No, that really isn’t true.
I’m writing about the thread that just got pulled, which I spent almost an hour preparing. When did the “no link - no thread” rule take effect?
