If I’m African-American, I want to be able to ask the question.

What would you consider sufficient proof that the man is not a racist? He was activily participating in the church when they made that change.

It’s not a matter of proof.

It’s a matter of being allowed to ask the question if I feel led to do so.

Maybe I just want to see how he’ll deal with it.

He’d better be prepared, too, because this is one area the liberals just might go after.

What would you answer?

I’d be real clear. I’d thank the person for their question. Then I’d say simply say that, even though I was still young, that was an element of church teaching that I had never supported.
