It’s not a matter of proof.
It’s a matter of being allowed to ask the question if I feel led to do so.
Maybe I just want to see how he’ll deal with it.
He’d better be prepared, too, because this is one area the liberals just might go after.

I’d be real clear. I’d thank the person for their question. Then I’d say simply say that, even though I was still young, that was an element of church teaching that I had never supported.
I’m not and never have been a Mormon, so I really don’t have a dog in the fight as far as defending Mormonism goes. I just don’t care for the idea of people trying to make “guilt by association” arguments, and trying to establish their own religious beliefs as the basis conservative political correctness.
