Dear FRiends
It really pains me to see some of those vicious anti-Mormons attacks we see on Free Republic disguised under the freedom of speech. Attacking people based on their Mormon faith is really disgusting and it is an insult to this great forum. People who do not like Governor Mitt Romney based on his positions are free to express their opinion as such, but people who attack him because he is a Mormom should be ashamed of themselves and must not be allowed to do so.
I greatly hope that Free Republic members and moderators will get together and help in stopping this anti-Mormon vitriol, this great Free Republic must not be tainted by these shameless acts.
That's ALMOST what they say...
Actually it is this:
"If you vote against someone based on their religion it just PROVES you are a bigot, HATER and probably pull wings off of flys and set kittens on fire!"
They have BOTH mentioned in their holy books.
Interesting, and did you know that the Romulan was born on 3/3/1947..(1+9+4+7=21 and 21/7=3 so 3+3=6 PLUS the divisible number comes up to 666! (Relax all, I’m making a joke)
I say we just sit tight, keep our powder dry, and wait to see what the answer is if the question gets asked.
Mosiah 28:11
Therefore he took the records which were engraven on the plates of brass, and also the plates of Nephi, and all the things which he had kept and preserved according to the commandments of God, after having translated and caused to be written the records which were on the plates of gold which had been found by the people of Limhi, which were delivered to him by the hand of Limhi; 1 Nephi 3:24 And it came to pass that we went in unto Laban, and desired him that he would give unto us the records which were engraven upon the plates of brass, for which we would give unto him our gold , and our silver, and all our precious things. |
It's just too doggone confusing.
Given some time (and consultation with Mormons I know) I am sure we could make an interesting wish list.
BTW, early Buddhism split on this issue of downstream "prophets" ~ ended up with the Jains going their own way (for a couple of centuries). The Christian Church movement (from which so many early Mormons came) also had huge battles over the question of whether or not the age of miracles was past, or continued, and were new prophecies possible. At the moment I think we continue to have an only unsteady truce regarding the use of statuary and icons ~ could break out in violence any moment ~ should anyone care. I get the impression Mormons find statues OK ~
How?
It'll be too late then.
Knock it off.
Boo Hoo!
You are in a PUBLIC forum, and ANYONE can join in to the conversation.
If YOU don't want to talk to ME, then do not do it.
If I wish to comment on something you've said here; I'll do it.
I don't intimidate very easily.
It happens a lot when you are outnumbered.
But, what date was the Klingon born on?
HMMmmm?
Actually, Southern Baptists are the collective anti-Christ. Ha! (This is a joke.)
They sure do like their idealized paintings!
Hi Sandy!
You’ve only 34 to go!
If I were you, I would pray for God to help me become a nicer person. Being obnoxious and rude aren’t Godly traits.
Kind of surprised me ~ done in heroic proportions and in a rather cloying style usually not found in serious statuary.
They have a tremendous Christmas light display ~ proving that even the Mormons have been turned by Sa'ami traditions (although the Creche didn't have any reindeer).
One of the best light displays I've ever seen I might add ~ there wasn't a bush, tree or stump there that hadn't been wrapped in lights.
I, for one, believe that Mitt Romney has always believed in his heart that Abortion is morally wrong and that it is (in nearly all cases) the premeditated murder of an unborn child.
I also believe that his pro-choice position was politically motivated and that he took that position in order to advance his political career.
I believe that he is now advocating his true lifelong beliefs on abortion because those beliefs are currently expedient to FURTHER advance his political career.
But if that is true (I may be wrong, but I don't think so), then what does that say about his character?
I agree with F.Lee Levin on this- I can vote for anyone if they uphold the Constitution on a consistent basis as a strict constructionist. That’s about my only criteria.
That may be. Xziins makes the argument that "The issue is winning".
Ditto. As a conservative Catholic, I have no problem with Romney’s religion. I have good friends who are Mormon. I would sure as hell rather have a conservative Mormon than the communist Hilldabeast!
