Jethro Tull in concert. Aqualung needed?

Wow. Just saw Jethro Tull in concert in Jacksonville, FL last night. Ian Anderson sounded horrible. He can still play the flute like he did in the 70's, but his singing was downright horrible. His stage antics were OK, but this is the first time I saw them in concert. I love Jethro Tull, but was disappointed that the set omitted Bungle in the Jungle and The Whistler. Any other Freepers see them in 2007? If so, any thoughts?

The song "Crosseyed Mary" gives me the creeps. Basically a sexual relationship between a teenage tart and a derelict.

Now, I hope you don't mind if I sit this one out (flute plays).

He’s 60 now. Age must be a factor, although I doubt anyone considered him an exceptional singer in his early career. Think of Frank Sinatra in his 60’s. He had a great voice, but it deteriorated with age.

I saw Tull once in concert, back in the mid or late 1970s. Damn, I'm old! I remember that they were very good, but I really liked the opening act even better. UK!

I did see Rush last summer here in Washington DC, they were great, now they have not lost a beat in all of their years. Just wished they played some 2112.

I know what you mean... The very first concert I ever went to was Rush on their Farewelll to Kings tour. Since then, I've seen them at least 6 times. In fact, the last concert I went to was a Rush concert as well, but it's been a very long time. Primus was opening for them.

I received an email from Rush.com yesterday and they said they are continuing their Snakes and Arrows tour through 2008. I had tickets to see them in Germany in 1979 on their Hemisphere’s tour, but supposedly, Neil Peart hurt his hand.

BTW, during the Rush concert they play a song called “Work’n Them Angles” and on the big screens they showed several photos of US Soldiers with angle wings photoshopped in. Each time they showed them, the crowd roared.
