Mike Huckabee attacks a fellow Republican on his religion, not only breaking Reagan's 11th commandment, but also showing a stunning level of bigotry often displayed by so called believers in the bible.
I am a religious person who believes in Christ as my savior even though I will not join any organized religion.
I was raised a Northern Baptist, but have both Catholics and Mormons and Protestants in my family.
Quite frankly Mr. Huckabee makes me want to puke when he states that; "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers?"
If he shows his kisser in Southern NH before the primary I'll be out there with a sign protesting this hateful turd. He is no better than those freaks who protest at our soldier's funerals.
There, I've said it let the flames begin.
“Is it really true that we have not seen the whole article but that the author leaked this one line? That would make me reluctant to judge the interviewee completely no matter who he is.”
Unless I’ve read a severely edited version, it wasn’t so much an article as an interview. Q&A. And Huck dropped the bomb(his question) at the end of a question. Threw it out there for christians to chew on prior to the Iowa caucus. That was wrong.
“The trinity. Ive read my Bible. Ive taught Bible. I was even pulled out of the science department at a Jewish owned school to create a religion class with the instructions that the credits had to be transferable to both Christian and Jewish schools and I come from a long line of Baptist preachers... and I have never gotten that God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus - who I believe is the Son and the prophesied Messiah, are exactly equivalent.”
I pretty much said the same thing on a previous post. I said that I have always had a hard time wrapping my mind around the ins and outs of the trinity. That its up there with how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
“So Id have a hard time condemning someone who believes in God and asks forgiveness in Jesus name because they are unsure of or disagree on the exact relationship between God, his Son and the Holy Spirit.”
I agree though I will go you one further. I said before that a persons actions are what is important so I’d vote for a jew, a buddhist, a catholic, a pentacostal or, a dare I say it, a muslim if said candidate’s actions were in line with my what I deem as exceptable public policy. I’ll ask it again, can anyone point out anything uniquely mormon about Romney in his public policy as governor or even for his presidential run?
“Its so much better to criticize the opponent on issues and without using exaggerated inflammatory language. I learned this lesson from George Bush41. He really should have criticized Ronald Reagans plans without calling it Voodoo Economics - not only does such language make it harder to work with both the man and his supporters but it makes the speaker look weak when he has to back off or reverse in order to cooperate later.”
Well if you are referring to Huck’s cowardly question left hanging out there, I agree. If you are refering to my responses to the bigoted posts on FR about mormonism, and Romney, well I am a sinner who isn’t running for anything. I’ll only have to answer to fellow FRers in the here and now and to God in the hereafter.
To be fair, I think he was trying to be cute.
I can't imagine the verbal faux paus he will commit if elected POTUS (crossing myself)?..

“To be fair, I think he was trying to be cute.”
You mean cute like “don’t all catholics take their orders from Rome”? Or “Aren’t all jews christ killers”? He threw out “don’t they believe that Christ and the devil are brothers”. Which one is the most inflammatory? Which one is asked by your run of the mill bigot and which one was asked by a leading presidential candidate. Questions, questions.
I Get plenty of bran in my diet. Why don’t you try adding some brain to your cranium. And if cranium is too big of a word for you, how about skull. OOps thats also probably too big a word, oh forget it, it’s too hard trying to communicate with someone who has been given too many mind altering drugs by their school psychologist.
Put... down... the... bong.

You are a freaking bigot, just admit it. The truth shall set you free.
I freely admit to being a bigot, I hate people who feel that their religious beliefs are superior to other free thinking people’s beliefs.
You must dwell in a very shallow pond.<<
Would you be willing to double check to see if you posted that in response to the post you were trying to respond to.
It does not appear to relate to my posts basically said the first report is bad but we don’t have the whole article and I corrected some phrasing in the OP.
So if you would double check, I’d appreciate it.
One RINO gores another... Who cares?
Mormons are by and large pretty nice people, once you get past the crazies that marry 14 year old girls to dirty old men. They don’t generally drink, smoke, or swear, and by and large they’re pretty wholesome people. Let them believe whatever the hell they want to believe. It works for them.
