I had a great score at a country antique store—a set of Theodore Haviland China, service for eight, for $30. All the Haviland’s did china, Theo did it in the US in the 20s and 30s I think. Jewel Tea and other door to door salesmen gave it as premiums, iirc.
My MIL left me a set of four sterling dowry spoons, huge silver things with monograms and dates, one from her aunt’s wedding in 1895. I use them for serving spoons at family dinners. And I have a set of limoges, very very delicate. I love antiques, especially including the antique monogrammed table linens from my husband’s family...

They look like butter pats to me, the colorful designs seem likely too for a breakfast serving. Nice find.

One of my best husband’s finds was at a firehouse auction. All of “big dealers” laughed when my husband paid $450 for this vase. It happened to be a Zsolnay Pecs Art Nouveau vase that went to auction in David Rago’s auction & sold for 10 grand. My husband can look into a box & come up with something odd that I would think was trash but it turns out to be worth money. He found a hood ornament for 50 cents & sold it for $175 on ebay. He has so many good finds that I can’t remember all of them.

My first thought was that they were bone trays, but they’re not curved.
Have you determined the artist “J.H.”?
“K.M.” Karl Muller of UPW is very desirable. ;-D

Not sure what the J.H. stands for but I think they are ownership initials. There is an impressed mark that looks something like a u with the tail of a y.KM was definatly there in 1876.

Unless these items were custom made for an extremely wealthy client, it’s more likely that that is the artist’s sig.

I don’t collect porcelain but have been known to worship it from time to time back in the day.
