This Great Blue Heron was fishing in Maria Sanchez Lake yesterday.
Beautiful shot.

Just for content, a female mexican hummingbird in her nest. El Comitan, El Centenario, La Paz, B.C.S. Mexico:

Those are great shots too. I have a friend at work who works at a raptor center here in NE Ohio and she takes some great shots. She has a set of a bald eagle being set free after its convalescence. I’m very happy to see all the great birds coming back; blue herons, red-tail hawks, bald eagles and peregrine falcons are all very present here now.
arrrgh...I hate those Blue Herons. They eat my goldfish.
The net seems to be stopping them now but the Herons were getting fat until I got one.
They’re bold little creatures.
I have a pair of great gray owls on the far back corner of my property - probably the only pair in NY - never been lucky enough to get a picture of either of them...
