LOL! Neither of my cats talked till a Siamese kitten moved in. She taught them all to talk and now the house is filled with three feline chatterboxes, all the better to harrass us with.

My cat always said, “Meow” until one day I said, “Meow-Meow.” Apparently he was pleased to learn a new language because afterwards he said, “Meow-Meow.”

They were playing, but did you notice how the cat’s tail got slowly fluffier?

Yeah, it’s all pretty casual in the beginning but then the cat kind of escalates. I love the ending where he chases the dog into the other room! So funny.
To: LucyT
The more you talk to your cat the more it’ll talk. Not that you’ll understand each other, but it does draw the cat closer to you.

They were playing, but did you notice how the cats tail got slowly fluffier? Never a good sign... ;-)

When I had both dogs and cats they all got along and often played like that, teasing each other until the necessary truce.

Fluffing tail meant the cat was getting excited and may tend to go beyond mere playing. They are really friends, it just how cats hunt, playing with their prey. That’s usually when the truces come about.
