Prince Harry takes Chelsy on a make-or-break African holiday

Prince Harry is taking Chelsy Davy on a romantic African holiday after persuading her to give their relationship another try.

The couple will fly out this weekend after a series of heart-to-hearts about their future.

They plan to spend the next few days soaking up some pre-Christmas sunshine.

Chelsy, 22, is still intent on quitting her course at Leeds University and may return to Cape Town, where her parents have bought her an apartment.

But the 23-year-old prince hopes to use their time away to talk the Zimbabwean-born student into staying in England.

Said a friend: "It really is make-or-break time and this holiday is a good chance for them to talk things over away from the pressures they face at home.

Hold on a minute, HOLD ON!

""""after persuading her to give their relationship another try."""""

Kidding me right? I don't too much care for the love lives of the rich and famous. And this story has no bearing on my life whatsoever.

But I cannot get over the above comment.

HELLOOOOO! HE'S A PRINCE!!!! Good lord, what does this gal want? Is she holding out for a king?

"Who are you dating now?" "Oh, a prince...but I don't really like him that much." "WHAT?!?"

Either he is a real jerk...(I mean he would have to be really really really bad to get past the prince part)....or she is playing him like a fiddle. Maybe that is it. Maybe she is playing hard-to-get and its driving him crazy because he has never had that before....

I don't get it.

He went to a (I believe it was rugby) final with his friends instead of spending her birthday with her. She thinks that he drinks too much and does not act responsibly. I say the gal probably has her head on much straighter than Harry.

And just because somebody is a prince, you don't put up with him treating your shabbily. Unless you are a shallow twit interested only in status and such.

Iirc from earlier reports about this relationship, she wants him to give up his military service, among other generally accepted duties of his position - and just be her puppy. I’m surprised he’s still pursuing the relationship, when he’s got unlimited options. She must have ... something.

One can only look at the fate of others that have succumbed to the idea of marring a member of the royal family. ?? Mayhap she is brighter than her predecessors in this arena?

It’d be way cooler if he was dating Chelsea (Clinton)... (sigh) that truly would be a royal wedding...

<<<<<>>>>> Thats just it, I believe. He probably, honestly knows that he can have just about any girl in the world. He has never had a woman "diss" him and it is driving him crazy. Yep, she is playing him like a fiddle.

On the other hand, he seems to be a few synapses short of a merit scholar. If I were his mother, I’d suggest a few more years of maturing before he got seriously involved with any girls!

The British royal family hasn’t had good luck with marriages lately, except for dear, dull Prince Edward. Harry’s not the heir - the best thing for him would be to concentrate on military service while he grows up. (A little slower than young men with fewer privilege ...)

I say this as the mother of five sons!

Yeah, but people like that ~ royalty, celebs, anyone in the public eye ~ have it drilled into their heads everyday not to be permiscuis and be very careful of who you mess around with.

A surprise baby might not be so bad for your average Joe. But it would be a tabloid scandle for someone like that.

I am sure their are women that do just that...try to get at celebs or royalty to have their babies or otherwise try and scam them out of a few bucks with the promise of being quiet.

Not saying this girl is like that. She obviously is way smarter and is in it for the long haul...

The fact that the British royals don’t have any surprise babies in the news suggests that everyone’s being careful!

My sense of this girl is that she wants to marry Prince Harry, but she doesn’t want to “show the flag,” with both of them doing the expected things for his position. It’s understandable, if that’s her plan, but I don’t think it’s going to work out.

Well, my theory comes from experience of being played by women.

It seems that every woman that I have ever fawned over, treated like a queen, fell at her feet and followed her like a puppy, showering her with gifts and telling her how wonderful she was wanted nothing to do with me. They knew I was at their beckon call and the more they resisted, the harder I tried.

In the same light, every woman that I really didn’t care for and showed little interest in was relentlessly trying to get my attention. Not that there were alot of those....and I am no prince...but still. I think that is just human nature.

Ummm. I think his mother died in a French tunnel while spending time with one of her numerous lovers.

Yeah, I remembered that a post later. If he’d had a more stable mother, he might not be such a goof. On the other hand, Queen Elizabeth, the exemplar of duty and patriotic morals, produced Prince Charles ...

I couldn’t say. I’ve been married for almost 20 years to the only guy who ever showed a serious interest in me ... and eight children proves that we know *serious* from just series :-).
