I HATE that America’s team BS! Bob Ryan, who was the head of NFL Films, is the guy supposedly responsible for that phrase. He shoulda kept his big mouth shut!

Next to the Cowboys and the SeaHawks, I root for GB. I love watching Brett play.

My perspective is that the team we all saw the first eight games of the season is the one we'll see in the playoffs. Its almost impossible to maintain that edge when you have no competition within your division and you basically have home field sowed up. You still see glimpses of it when crunch time hits.

I hate the comparisons to the 72 Dolphins, but they played a bunch of clunkers too during their undefeated season.

They are a bit pass happy, but Belichek has no reservations about abandoning an offensive approach on a dime.

So far this half we have seen:

1) Brady make bad throws (that last throw on 3rd down was a dead duck. Simms is FOS when he said it was tipped)

2) Receivers drop passes

3) Receivers run short routes instead of pushing deeper towards 1st down market

4) Too much passing on 1st down instead of establishing more of a run tempo. This is very important given how much stress it outs on a defense that is getting worn down as the season progresses.

5) Not enough push by the interior D-line.

Steelers are very beatable but we are seeing mental mistakes by Brady and a poor game plan by the offense.

You have a great point about wearing down the defense. The Patriots defense, at least up front, are all veterans. A running game the last few games of the season, even if it meant a loss or two, would give them a bit of a blow prior to the wars beginning...as long as they could piece together some decent drives with the running game.

For all the BS that Maroney hears, and it is deserved at times, he does hit the pile and you don’t see him running for the sidelines like many backs. The few runs he did make in the 1st half set up the big pass play. They need to get him more involved in the offense either with draw plays, screens or fakes then toss after he clears the line.

Steelers own time of possession by close to 8 minutes in the first half and they open with the ball in the 2nd half.

I really hope they draft some athletes this offseason.

That play in the first quarter where Maroney carried the Stiller defense for six yards was one of the more amazing runs I’ve ever seen.

I had an old Junior High School football coach say... "Them trick plays are not honest football."

Of course, our team... went 1-9 that year.

Who is the idiot on the Steelers that guaranteed a victory? Way to motivate the other side!

Ya know, there is something screwy that the Pats don't run Maroney more. Since I've not kept up with the Pats team politics, what is the story, if there is one?

Gadzooks! The Stealers got a 31-13 wooden stake in the heart there!

Surely I should sing... the party's over now?

I told you... don't call me Shirley!

I wonder when in the 2008 Season, the NFL will schedule Dallas at Green Bay.

My guess it will be NBC September 7th, or September 4th.

Just an observation....relatives are a lot like fish. After three days they begin to smell...

Nice stand....although I thought that there was face guarding on the previous play.

From the recent performance of Sidney Rice, Chester Taylor, Adrian Peterson (Sans today) Tavarius Jackson, Vinsanthe Shiancoe on offense and Marcus McCauley and Chad Greenway on defense, that the Vikings can be the team of the future?
