One of the best High Stakes players in the World.

Most likely the best Stud player ever.

David "Chip" Reese, a card star who won one of the biggest cash games in the world and three World Series of Poker championships, has died. He was 56.

Poker Ping...

From: Professional-Poker.com - Chip Reese
As the legend goes, in 1974 on his way out to California to attend law school, Chip Reese stopped off in Las Vegas with $400 in his pocket. He started playing low-limit Seven-card Stud. By the end of the weekend, he won first place in a Seven-card Stud tournament, which paid $60,000. He never made it to Stanford. A year passed before he finally told his parents that he did not attend law school and instead, he spent that time as a professional poker player in Las Vegas. He was once quoted saying, “Law doesn’t have the same monetary incentive as poker.”

He was one of the if not the best all around players ever. In 7-stud there is no doubt he was the best. Now that He is “all in” I say good game and RIP. The Poker world lost a legend today. My prayers to the Reese family.

Sad...
I really enjoyed watching him play..
A real gentleman, in a sport running short of same....

At least I can continue to play against Chip on my “Poker Superstars” program...
