The Dragonflie's Lair~Thread XLV

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good morning you two! Looks like we’re slowly but surely losing our connection (it happens). But wanted to wish you a pleasant day before I get booted.

Good Morning To The Lair

Thank you for providing a "home" for us to gather, Soaring
Feather. Great menu, NYA!! Hope your soreness is better,TT
and you are feeling better, JOHNN. Thanks for the grins Lady J!

I had a very full, very exhausting but blessed day yesterday

The roofer came to estimate the cost of repairing my roof from the damage my youpon branches caused during last week's windstorm just as I was ready to go shopping.
He spent an hour trimming branches while standing on the roof before inserting new shingles..(Of course I was mad at myself for not having the tree trimmed earlier.) We were also under another wind advisory last night so I was greatly relieved to see his work!.
I then had him measure for new gutters..(Oh..the joy of home ownership.)
I asked what I owed him and he said "nothing" You are a good customer..I teared up ..so surprised! I gave him a hug...LOL.I had wondered if they would even do a cursory trimming and I received this Christmas gift from this generous man.
I did my grocery shopping last It was a pain..traffic jams! I couldn't put away all the groceries... I was so tired..

The florist then delivered a beautiful Christmas arrangement from my late husband's brother and wife..
It was a great day overall..and Silky loved sleeping on my(Her?) new soft burgandy throw.

Dear Meg,

Beautiful little frame. WOW, what an emotion packed day you had yesterday. How wonderful for the unexpected gift from the roofer.

Grocery shopping is the most hated job on my list of jobs! Sometimes, Meg I, too, am exhausted from the ordeal and I leave the canned and boxed stuff until the next day.

Our weather is forecasting high winds and rain for tonight and tomorrow. May be a green Christmas here.

So glad that you and Silky are comfy and warm.

God Bless ya love!

Thank you,Feather..indeed it was.
I finally got all put away..Everyone in my town was at MY grocery store yesterday! I am so stocked up now..but of course I forgot something so must return..but to the Express aisle!

Now I need to go out and make a Patio arrangement out of some of those beautiful red berried youpon branches..I was too busy and too tired to do it yesterday..I need to make one arrangement for my daughter in law, too, and will put it in a large leaf bag..to keep the berries from getting in the car.I am going to have to hire someone to cart all the branches off.
I do see more blue sky out there with all that trimming done.

It will freeze tonight..so I need to get it done early while the sun shines..Winds are kicking up. Stay safe and warm, Soaring Feather.

I heard the news about Tony Blair.

Well, the British PM thing goes back to the old days, probably to Henry VIII, he had a habit of cavorting around with woman and marrying them, so he fought to take the Church of England out of the hands of the Pope and made it a Protestant Church so he could marry his latest sweetie.

Needing some calories, Tude.

Do you have home fries? If so I'd really love some eggs over easy and sausages with home fries and some of your delicious Columbian coffee.

Need great gobs of coffee.

A friend sent me this and I pass it on in the same spirit.
_____________________________________________________

A heads up for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers. I received the following e-mail from a Retired Army Officer this morning,

Subject: Home Depot Scam
Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. I wanted to let you know about a scam at Home Depot so that other men are aware and don’t become victims. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don’t be naive enough to think it couldn’t happen to you or your friends.

Here’s how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say “No” and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot. You agree and they get in the backseat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen September 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th 29th. Also October 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th, 30th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

So tell your fellow male friends to be careful. ;-)

Sorry I haven’t been around, the sore throat, moved down into the chest. I spent all last night sitting up and coughing, and by morning, every muscle in my ribcage hurt! I know what the tackling dummy on a pro-football team feels like after a workout!!! I’m gonna grab an hour or so of sleep, see if I can get some rest. Catch you all later.

Soft, soft, the subtle winds of change
shifting the every moving sands of time
and everything becomes something new
and so challenges us again it to do
like a fly in amber, caught in a rhyme
a moment we can hold or set free to range
