My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

A Slug-a-Bed

I am a slug-a-bed
hiding every bit of my head
under covers thick and warm
flannel sheets on the bed
while snowflakes fly out of doors
I worry not that they pile up

I am snug and warm in my bed.

thy furrowed brow
tell stories not spoken
but hang heavy as your cloak
hangs from slumping shoulders
war worn, tired from bloody battle


of clashing blades, slashing swords,
yet holding forth a stalwart posture
of honor while bent from battle
on this night-come my knight
to your maiden's chambers tower
high away from the clamor
to the midnight hour of magic moments


Lay thy bloodied beaten head
upon the softness of my bed
and lay in peace 'til the cock doth crow
then off to battle thou must go


White Knight honor to uphold
bravely striding before the fold
leading your company to victory
and bestow your world with fealty...
