BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- LSU's national title hopes were crushed by a Heisman-worthy performance.
Darren McFadden rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another to lift Arkansas to a 50-48, three-overtime victory over the top-ranked Tigers on Friday.
Peyton Hillis also scored three TDs, the last in the third overtime. Felix Jones ran for the critical 2-point conversion to make it 50-42 Razorbacks (8-4, 4-4 SEC).
LSU (10-2, 6-2) responded when Matt Flynn found Brandon LaFell for a 9-yard TD, but Matterral Richardson intercepted the 2-point conversion attempt, and Arkansas' bench emptied onto the field in triumph.
McFadden, last year's Heisman Trophy runner-up, rushed for 206 yards 32 carries and now has 1,725 yards rushing this season. No doubt there are West Virginia and Ohio State fans who'd vote for McFadden for Heisman if they could.

Hot damn!
Great game, wonder what the BCS does now!!
Didn’t think LSU would make it. So, who’s #1?
Dam, CF is the best. Anyone can win, any day, thats why we need a tournament.
I’d say it’s a better than 50% chance we’re looking at a WVU v. OSU national championship game. And sadly, I’d say there are at least 10 teams that would have a legitimate chance of beating either of those two teams. What an exciting year this would be if here was an 8-team playoff system in place.
OSU as in Ohio State?
Wahoo-wah.
ML/NJ
BTW, another upset.
Texas A&M beat (13) Texas.
Yep.
Next team ripe to be upset tomorrow is West Virginia at the hands of Connecticut.
To whoever added the keyword belongsinchat, I’m wondering why sports is listed under culture/society (which was removed as a topic category). Also, seems to me knocking off #1 is newsworthy, but hey that’s just me.
what a crazy year!!!
The pressure for a Tourney will grow even more after THIS season.
OSU will fold as soon as they get a real challenge. There are at least three teams in the SEC that could beat them and three more who would give them a good run for their money and beat them if they weren’t on top of their game. The SEC rules.
This win is going to drive the BCS commitee outright CRAZY. With CT playing against WV tommorrow, the big question is what if WV goes down?
The best answer: Do what works for college basketball, do a bracket system and be done with it.
Too expensive
Well the BCS is becoming a joke with the way things have been going this college football season.
