CBS 3 has compiled an extensive list of recalled and dangerous toys for the holiday season that will keep your family safe.

LEAD PAINT RECALLS:

An Ohio importer recalled nearly 250,000 SpongeBob SquarePants address books and journals manufactured in China. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the spiral metal bindings on the books might contain hazardous levels of lead paint.

Go Diego Go Animal Rescue boat, by Fisher Price. Contains lead paint.

Mattel announced it was recalling 800,000 toys, including 675,000 accessories for one of the company's biggest sellers, the Barbie doll. Also part of the recall, the third in just over a month, were 90,000 units of Mattel's GeoTrax locomotive line and about 8,900 Big Big World 6-in-1 Bongo Band toys, both from the company's Fisher-Price brand. The Big Big World products were sold nationwide from July through August of this year, while the GeoTrax toys were sold from September 2006 through August of this year.

Mattel's Fisher-Price division said it was recalling 1.5 million preschool toys featuring characters such as Dora the Explorer, Big Bird and Elmo because of lead paint. That action included 967,000 toys sold in the United States between May and August.

Toy maker RC2 Corp. recalled more than 200,000 railway toys and accessories that it said could contain dangerous levels of lead paint.

More than a half-million Chinese-made products were recalled, including "Pirates of the Caribbean" and Baby Einstein toys, because they contain dangerous levels of lead. Coin-shaped "Pirates of the Caribbean" flashlights and soft, textured Baby Einstein blocks were among the 544,000 products recalled, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced. The recall also includes Totally Me! Funky Room Decor Set decorating kits imported and sold by Toys "R" Us Inc. and a variety of wooden toys imported and sold by KB Toys Inc.

When I was 10, I got a new(used) 50cc minibike and a .22 long rifle.

The first thing I did was strap on my rifle and ride my motorcycle through the woods and across the highway to the local general store to pick up my father a pack of Camel non-filters.

Good Lord.....maybe we should just raise our kids in bubbles and feed them organic brocolli and filtered water.
