I will be leaving FR. I will no longer post here and likely will no longer check the news here either. I began to post here a few years ago with updates on my attempts and eventual success at founding teenage republican clubs across New Jersey and the surrounding area. I used to run a ping list about the invasion of Islam into Europe. I ran an FR-based operation to try to change public opinion about the Iraq war using letters to the editor and "stats" e-mails. It seems however that as soon as I began to indicate that I was supporting Mr. Giuliani for the Presidency all of that was instantly forgotten and I was branded many of the things I'm sure are crossing many people's minds as they read this. I'm leaving before I get kicked off for my own opinions, I'm not a left-winger who comes to attack the website, I'm a conservative that comes to share my opinions, and if this is a place where certain opinions are muted out because some disagree then good-bye. I always thought it was the Democrats who believed that if you silenced people who disagreed with you, what you were saying became true. What a fool I must be.
If you have any cohones you would stay.
End of story.
Don’t feel too bad. I’ve thought seriously about supporting Ron Paul, and you know how folks on FR feel about that.
There are some here who will attack those who disagree with them, but the majority do not. They may attack your positions. They may aggressively defend their own positions, but for the most part they won't just attack people.
You've chosen to support a candidate that I really can't understand a conservative that has payed attention to what that candidate has done supporting, and I may very well be among those that have criticized your choice. However, you are welcome to try and justify that choice and explain why you think he is the best choice.
I don't think you will convince many people of much of anything by leaving.
I have been here since 1998. I have been banned, flamed, etc. There is a difference between us. I don’t have a silly EGO over bloated like you.
See what Rudy has done to you!
Surprised I am not at your post to this person. Another example in a long line of examples.
But there has to come a moment on FR when people realize that Rudy may be the nominee and we will be left with the choice of Rudy or Hillary.
I for one would hold my noise and vote for Rudy....because I don't think this country could take another 8 years of the Clintons....times are to dangerous.
Thank you for allowing me to rant.
I don’t agree with my brother’s politics (Democrat in the mold of Lieberman), but I haven’t kicked him out of the house.
We just don’t talk about social issues where we part.
We have plenty of common ground re: Islamists & Israel.
I see a parallel here.
I have a list on my homepage of nuts I don’t post replies to. I also try to avoid certain threads, particularly about Judaism because these threads attract a lot of ignorance. But FR has a lot going for it. You shouldn’t quit just because there are anti-Rudy people here.
Now, now. As we speak, there is a Rudy thread in Front Page News. All candidates get fair exposure on FR.
Giuliani aide: Rudy would be the first Jewish president [IMPORTANT UPDATE POST #7]
By the way, whats the plural of opus? Opi?
I thoroughly disagree with you about Giuliani. He is a snake in the grass, a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, a serial philanderer, a radical liberal, and a poser. He is Hillary’s dream opponent.
You are terribly wrong to think that a conservative can support the man.
With this kind of sentiment here, why would you expect other than rough and tumble?
Stick around! I’m no Rudy supporter but I hold some offbeat opinions on other issues. It doesn’t bother me that there are Rudy supporters, Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, and “Politically Correct” conservatives here. If some of us disagree, it’s fine with me. I like to think that I always take a firm position, but I never would say that someone shouldn’t be here because they disagree with me on something.
That does not compute.
Juliani has my full support...as soon as he wins the Primary. And I’ll still be posting here.
Jim's mission statement is clearly spelled out on FR's homepage.
This forum stands for LIFE.
Giuliani doesn't.
How many times does this need to be repeated.
HHKrepublican2....no one is making you leave...you choose to go because you support Giuliani....and perhaps you've found someplace else to opine.
Good luck to you.
The plural of opus is opera. (Opus, operis . . . opera)
