Wholeheartedly agree - but for some diff reasons. By age 40 kids in college. We were entering peak earnings years, kids out of house, lots of money, good health, etc. I think women do it backwards now - but, of course, we were willing to postpone the “big house” and opted for diapers, braces, etc.

I beg to differ. My grandmother had 15 children, starting ar age 35. My father was born when she was about 50, and he was not the youngest. She and my grandfather lived till their middle 90's, in their home 90 miles north of Duluth, MN.

Women over 40...SHOULD NOT deliver babies.

My youngest child was born when I was 29, therefore I'm not commenting in defense of myself. If you are referring, for instance, to the increased risk to a baby born to a 40+ mother...apparently there is a greater risk of a child being born with Down's Syndrome, e.g. (I have not read up on this, BTW) Yet I tend to believe the great majority of children born to mothers in their 40's are as healthy as other children. Am I wrong? Time for me to do some reasearch.

At the risk of being a flip-flopper, I personally believe children need parents who are in their mid-20s through 30s. More importantly, decent, wise, unselfish and caring parents.

I have relatives who had children in their 40s, and they and they children did well physically and socially, all of them college graduates, one a doctor. This should be an individual choice. IIRC, it is not unusual in Ireland and Nordic countries to have children later in life.

Whatever my difference with Nancy Grace, I wish the best for her and the twins, who had to be delivered premature because she developed this lung condition.
