The NFL is looking into allegations that the Indianapolis Colts piped in noise during the game Sunday between the Colts and the Patriots. The charge comes after Patriots President Jonathan Kraft became the latest NFL team executive to accuse the Colts of the distracting tactic that is against the rules. "We're aware of it and we're looking into it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday. "It may just be the TV feed from CBS, but we're checking it out." Observers at the game said there seemed to be a "skip" in the sound during the game Sunday, which the Patriots won 24-20. That might confirm the long-held suspicion among many people in the NFL that the Colts play loud crowd noise to help distract opponents when the other team is on offense. "We're aware of the accusations, but there has never been anything to substantiate it," Aiello said. A Patriots spokesman said Monday the team plans no formal protest to the league. Kraft approached NFL Vice President of Security Milt Ahlerich after Kraft and his parents, Patriots owners Bob and Myra Kraft, left the Patriots locker room after the game. Kraft was angry as he told Ahlerich the league needed to look into the allegation. Ahlerich is the same person who confiscated a videotape made by the Patriots during a game against the New York Jets in Week 2 that led to the Spygate controversy. In addition, New England quarterback Tom Brady also commented on how loud it was in the RCA Dome. "I don't know how you measure levels of being deaf, but we couldn't hear anything out there," Brady said. This is the latest in a string of incidents between the teams that have fueled the growing Colts-Pats rivalry. In the past, Colts General Manager Bill Polian has vehemently argued that the Patriots have bent the rules in terms of use of replay challenges and the pass interference rule.
Let’s not forget Bart Starr who lead the Pack to 5 NFL titles.
Sewers smell better than the Vet.
He was a little before my time, but you’re right. :)
“Yes, I remember that a month or two ago but how were they cheating in the last two months?”
Bellicek’s character was established by that episode, so I find it interesting that his team is now complaining about anything. According to the insiders with the Browns, the Saints have interfered with radio transmissions to the helmets of the opponents whenever there were 3rd down calls coming to them on the field.
Kinda’ like the pot calling the pot a pot.
Kind of like NHL families. The Staals will have 4 NHL players in the family.
It seems those few obnoxious Pats fans on FR (they know who they are) are seemingly not posting on this thread. Mmmmm....I wonder why.
Warren failed to wrap up on several up the middle runs as well. Addai is very good but the Pats made him look better last night.
Miami definitely pulled a boner, but they do not have a QB to throw to him.
I think that the Pats being singled out for something that they were not trying to hid. The guy was standing on the sidelines for everyone to see.
How would them taping defensive signs help them during that game?
Blasting crowd noise so the offense can’t hear signal effects the game going on. Screwing with radio frequencies, etc all effect the game being played.
Its a huge diffence with what the Pats did and what the colts are doing.
Brady should be thankful he doesn't have in the Metrodome every year.
Talk about crowd noise. That place is the worst.
It’s tougher today to win championships. If Belichick stays in New England Brady might win 5 or 6 titles. Belichick is the greatest coach in NFL history. He had a rough start in cleveland. Fortunately for him, Parcells isn’t an idiot and hired him in New England and the Jets to be his defensive coach. And now he has the perfect situation in New England.
We can’t criticize the Colts less Archie might take you to the woodshed for dissin’ his boys team.
Peyton is America’s Cinderella and only Eli winning one as a mediocre QB would be a greater achievement to the Manning family business.
LOL! Very true. The best-smelling place in Philly, though has to be the corner in South Philly between Geno's and Pat's cheesesteak joints. Wiz wit' onions..mmmm.
Now that you mention that, my husband and I were watching on the Direct TV, and we both noticed it and thought it was our dish.
I have Verizon FIOS, so it definately wasn't the dish.
Do you think it is the genetics in the Manning family or is the old man a damn good coach?
Check out post #54
If there was illegal noise or signal manipulation, presumably the Colts will be held accountable by the NFL. If the practice has never been addressed by the NFL, at least teams playing there will know what they’re up against, and perhaps the NFL will act.
I guess I would be too. But looking back, it's pretty funny. If it's any consolation, a few years later a bunch of Patriot fans got electrocuted after they tore down the goalposts after the last game of the season, paraded down Route 1, and ran into some power lines.
I agree. I think every team will push the rules as far and as hard as they can. Did the Pats go too far, absolutely. If the Colts have been pumping moise through their audio systems so the offense can not hear...Its against the rules and they should be fined and Peyton manning should be banned for 3 games, make it 4 games. (My ruling as commish!)

LOL! What happened after the game? Did Brady and Manning shake hands and speak? I missed it. :(
