SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) It took 44 years and three overtimes for Navy to beat Notre Dame again.
The Midshipmen snapped an NCAA-record 43-game losing streak to the Fighting Irish on Saturday with a 46-44 victory in triple overtime.
Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada threw a 25-yard TD pass to Reggie Campbell on the first play of the third overtime, then found him again in the end zone for the 2-point conversion.
Notre Dame (1-8) cut the lead to two on a 5-yard TD run by Travis Thomas. But after a pass interference call gave Notre Dame a second-chance at the 2-point conversion, defensive lineman Michael Walsh and linebacker Irv Spencer tackled Thomas well short of the end zone.
It was the first time Navy (5-4) beat Notre Dame since a 35-14 win in 1963 when Roger Staubach was quarterback for the Midshipmen. The Midshipmen celebrated the long-awaited victory at midfield, jumping on top of each other.

Did a little livin' in between.
That's one hell of a name tag, Midshipman!
Notre Dame ain’t having a good year......
And perish the enlisted person that gets it wrong!
Mr. Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada, would you sign this requisition, ser. LOL!
Go NAVY!
Ain’t life grand!
Armed Forces bump.
Mr. Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada will visit Tecumseh tonight.
That was a great game. GO NAVY!!
I really like the way the ND coach congratulated the Navy players and how ND coach had all the ND players stand near the Navy team while the Navy song was played. It was great!
Ah, a fine day, Notre Dame loses along with CU, Boulder, CO.
Dear Notre Dame,
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sincerely

That was a great game! I like both college teams, but was rooting for Navy, because they hadn’t beaten ND since 1963!
I think if the rule hadn’t been having to go for 2 after a touchdown in the 3rd OT, they’d still be playing!
Weis gave that game away, going for it on 4th down when they were already in field goal range. As usual, the media will probably give the Exalted One a free pass.
I’m still mad at UCLA; can you imagine a winless Notre Dame!
Us SC fans are ok with it.
Weren’t The Uclans playing a 3rd string QB?
Still, your sentiment holds - USC fans notwithstanding!!
Mrs LC & I were in Annapolis, watching the game at Stan & Joe’s pub. Standing room only, and when Navy won, I thought the roof would come loose from the yelling, stomping, cheering, etc. There was a 1st Class guy at the bar, who said, “I can graduate now...”, or words to that effect.
What a day to be down there on vacation!
LC
You and the Mrs were very fortunate to experience all that joy! Hopefully Navy will continue to win.
