Set in 1898, Print Ritter and his estranged nephew Tom Harte
become the reluctant guardians of five abused and abandoned Chinese girls.
Ritter and Harte's attempts to care for the girls are complicated by
their responsibility to deliver a herd of horses while avoiding a group
of bitter rivals intent on kidnapping the girls for their own purposes.

Something light hearted for Fri discussion. Just finished watching this on DVD last night,
hadn't seen it when it was on TV but thought it was very well done.
Not quite your standard cowboy movie but more realistic I thought.
I highly recommed it if you haven't seen it yet. Comments anyone?

I love Robert Duvall in Westerns. Nothing surpasses Lonesome Dove though. Augustus McRae was one of his best roles although Ned Peppers is a close 2nd.

We watched it when it was on TV. Good movie with clear good guys doing good. Odd to get that kind of quality, but not surprised that Duvall was part of it.

Robert Duvall is in it? That's all I need to hear. It's going in my Netflix queue.

that’s how I saw it, added it when I saw Duval won a golden globe or something for it and it just worked it’s way up to the top this week. I can see why he won

I thought it was great and liked the way the 3 guys weren’t all expert marksmen who could hit an acorn in a tree a mile away with a knife (though I like those kind too). Just a bunch of everyday guys who didn’t seek trouble but didn’t run from it when it found them.
