I figured it was OK to post this in News because the last 3 Torre articles were posted there and haven’t been moved. :)

Maybe now more people will now watch Dodger games.

The Dodgers haven’t had a real manager since Lasorda. I for one can’t wait to see if he can bring out the best in these players and build a team. He definitely didn’t inherit the same talent as he did in NY. Being a lifelong Dodger fan, I am excited to see this news.

agreed to a three-year contract for an estimated $14.5 million. I thought Five million plus for one year from the Yankees was an insult in Torre's mind?

Dodgers had only 2 managers from 1954-96.
Was any other team even close?
They’re on their 6th manager since 1996 though.

A good hire by the Dodgers.
They still suck though.

The irony of a Yankee wearing Dodger Blue continues to cause me gastric distress. Of course, you have to be 60+ years old to truly feel the pain. It’s not that I dislike Joe in the least, it’s just that I remember the 40’s and 50’s too well (we won’t talk about the 60’s or Chavez Ravine in mixed company).

And now if only the Dodgers could draft me to play 3rd base...
