I could see a few challenges just in California: bungee jumping off of the Golden Gate Bridge; climbing up Half Dome in Yosemite.
Actually, it would be fun if they went to lots of our National Parks. They could go to Hawaii to Volcano National Park. They could go to the Grand Canyon and take a donkey ride down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Their’s Glacier National Park.
Then there are lots of cool cities to visit. They could go to Chicago and do something in the Sear’s Tower or at the Science & History Museum.
They could go to New York City and maybe search for a name listed at Ellis Island.
I think we should come up with interesting challenges and places to see right here in the USA.
This surprised me. I figured they (amazing race producers) might have played with the opening time, but that is the normal hours.
Is it really called Hanging Garden? Do they have plants up there in that circular part?
Hey did I actually hear her screech at the bus stop, “You make the decision. You’re the MAN!” ? Yike! Whatever is the world coming to??
I’m always interested to see the really cool native person at the mat with Phil who greets them. But last week - am I the only one who thought the Osaka lady looked like a rough drag queen?
No, you’re not. I thought she looked a little “odd.”
Oh, and on the way to the airport, after Ron says actually Nate and Jen are “smart,” we get Nate saying all they know about Taiwan is that they like “thai” food.
And after the roadblock, he pronounces the capital city - “Tay-pie.” Dear God, I haven’t felt so good about two idiots getting eliminated since Jonathug and Victoria.
And Christine - naughty naughty telling the clerk to tell the other teams there were no more seats. What completely amazed me is that she actuall DID tell them (however, I’m thinking that maybe there WERE no more seats - I can’t see anyone that works for an airline letting a plane go out with empty seats).
I didn’t catch them on the Early show, so I was wondering if Jen was b***hing that Ron and Chris had an unfair advantage in Japan and Taiwan because they’re Oriental. I mean she’s b***hed about everything else, I’m amazed that didn’t come up in her litany of gripes.
Floating Garden Observatory, Umeda Sky Building
I guess they call it floating gardens because it is between the two towers. Watching the episode last night, I didn't really notice how scary those escalators really were.
Thank goodness! The wench Jen was sent home. Nate’s blubbering was unmanly.
Can’t wait! Wow this show goes by so fast. I wish it were twice as long.
In a final Amazing Race leg unlike any homestretch before it, the Racers are surprised to learn upon checkout that their next flight is their last for the entire race: the entire leg, all the way through the finish line, will play out in the city, the wilderness, by the ocean, on glaciers, and in the national parks of Alaska. One often combative Team comes together, while one usually cohesive Team clashes. One Team misreads a vital clue. Will this lead to the Team's downfall? After 10 cities, 4 continents, and nearly 30,000 miles, who will cross the finish line first and win the one million dollar prize?
silent-jonny,
Thanks for keeping up the ping list and posting the recaps for this year’s TAR. This year has been one of the better TARs.
Yes, I’m glad that she is gone, she looks like a Hillary voter.
DH and I like Gramps and G-Son, but I think if Team Hernia (Ron) really has come around and respects his lovely daughter, maybe I can root for them. But I don’t dislike TK and Rachel either, so I guess I’ll be happy either way.
Yes, for once maybe I’ll be happy with the winner. I would like to see Hernia win it. Second choice is Gramps, and third would be Dredlocks. But any would be fine. Hernia would have more responsibility with the $$$, and Gramps would be ok with it. But I’m sorry to say Dreadlocks don’t look like they know the value of a dollar and would give it all to Hillary’s campaign by 2 pm the next day.
Flipping back and forth between TAR and the game.
TAR in AK
puke ..
Grandpa & Grandson screwed up.
This year has been one of the better TARs.
I agree. It's been one of the fastest seasons too.
They must be pretty jet-lagged at this point. I don’t know if I could make it up that ice wall even with a good night’s sleep.
