Same here in WV on that weather system...although I will say that I’m not so sure I would have been trying to observe that comet at mag. 17, especially if it was close to the horizon.

Comet 17P/Holmes suddenly became nearly one million times brighter last week, possibly over just a few hours. One of the kids must've asked 'Are we there yet?' once too often for Dad.

Got to see it trough binocs. When I got the telescope out two of the neighbors decided it was a great time to turn on all of their outside lights. I gave up.
