Agreed. And to think that I got flak from other Republicans in 2001 when I voiced my opposition to No Child Left Behind.(and I wasn’t exactly a conservative then, either)
We had a very strident ‘rubber stamp’ group back then that didn’t have any connection to reality whatsoever IMO.
I admire standing behind Bush on his defensible actions, but to give him blanket immunity to criticism is as bad when it comes from the right as it is when it comes from the left. In fact I think it’s even more dangerous, since the right is the only viable arbiter of moral values in this nation.
If the right can’t address truth, who will?
