I dislike microsoft on my computer...but, seeing as how I don’t know anything about linux....I’m stuck with microsoft for awhile.

One day, I’ll switch over. I don’t want to have any microsoft anything on my computer(s)....that’s the goal.
I don’t trust Gates spyware.

After you get used to not dealing with an OS that assumes you are brain dead, and that it knows what you actually want to to better than you ever possibly could, you will find it's very easy and intuitive.

What about add on software programs....are there many available?
What about like word processing software? They aren’t compatible with microsoft, are they?

I have MS office for Macintosh on my machine.
OpenOffice also runs on the Mac.
The only place the Mac is weak is in drafting programs, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
OTOH it is very strong in editing software of artistes. You you probably run the studio production for a major film on your desktop...

I didn't know that MS has "office" for Mac. That's good to know.
The only place the Mac is weak is in drafting programs, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
Um...I more than likely WOULDN'T be using any of those kinds of programs. ; )
