Hope your nightcap is the good stuff!
I can be had, but I'm not cheap!!!!
Come on over. The half gallon of 12 yo Chivas is nearly full.
A guy walks into a bar and rudely demands a shot of 12-yr old scotch. The bartender thinks “this guy doesn’t know the difference,” so he pours a shot of 2-year old scotch. The patron takes one sip and spits it out. He promptly hollers at the bartender: “I said 12-year old scotch, you bozo!”
Still unimpressed the bartender pours some 6-year old scotch. The patron takes a sip...same reaction.
But the bartender still doesn’t believe the patron knows the difference. So he pours a shot of 10-year old scotch. Again, same reaction from the patron.
Finally, the bartender is convinced. He pours the patron a glass of 12-year-old scotch. The patron takes a sip and is most satisfied.
All the while this has been going on, a drunk at the end of the bar has been watching. He slides a shot glass down the bar to the patron and drunkedly says: “Shay mishter, tashte this!” The patron obliges...he promptly spits it out. “It tastes like piss,” he shoots back at the drunk. The drunk replies: “How old am I?”
Ahhhh....my heart is warming to the lady jagular........
A fire, good scotch, and fine jagular company......
Dang, I've posted a few times on some political threads the last hour, and the flaming is simply unbelievable.
Perhaps a nice drink by the fire would help soothe my tattered political ego.
That and a negligee........
:-)
Do you have a negligee?
specially when I'm watching the Patriots.
"The image hardly fits our idea of the happy couple's wedding picture - but this haunting photograph taken in Afghanistan graphically captures life for millions of girls given in marriage while under age."
Oh, give the guy some credit. Unlike the prophet mohammad, he waited until his child bride was 11, he didn’t marry her at 6...
Poor kid, she is probably his fourth wife - so she will have drudge for the other three.
1st Prize for Stephanie Sinclair
Child brides
Hes forty, shes eleven. And they are a couple the Afghan man Mohammed F.* and the child Ghulam H.*. We needed the money, Ghulams parents said. Faiz claims he is going to send her to school. But the women of Damarda village in Afghanistans Ghor province know better: Our men dont want educated women. They predict that Ghulam will be married within a few weeks after her engagement in 2006, so as to bear children for Faiz.
During her stay in Afghanistan, it consistently struck American photographer Stephanie Sinclair how many young girls are married to much older men. She decided to raise awareness about this topic with her pictures. Particularly as the official minimum age for brides in Afghanistan is sixteen and it is therefore illegal to marry children.
Early marriages are not only a problem in Afghanistan: worldwide there are about 51 million girls aged between 15 and 19 years who are forced into marriage. The youngest brides live in the Indian state of Rajasthan, where 15% of all wives are not even 10 years old when they are married. Child marriages are a reaction to extreme poverty and mainly take place in Asian and African regions where poor families see their daughters as a burden and as second-class citizens. Already in their younger years, girls are given into the care of a husband, a tradition that often leads to exploitation. Many girls become victims of domestic violence. In an Egyptian survey, about one-third of the interviewed child brides stated that they were beaten by their husbands. The young brides are under pressure to prove their fertility as soon as possible. But the risk for girls between the ages of 10 and 14 not to survive pregnancy is five times higher than for adult women. Every year, about 150,000 pregnant teenagers die due to complications in particular due to a lack of medical care, let alone sex education.
For her project, Stephanie Sinclair also traveled to Nepal and Ethiopia. She wants to do research on the topic of child marriage in other regions as well and then publish a book on the issue
Ack!
Tacks label!
(I know.. I know..)
We are within the law sometimes.
Obamy has thrown a curve into what was to be the coronation of Her Hideousness. LOL I'm thoroughly enjoying her attemtpts to justify her burning ambition and trying to dismiss Obamy without alienating his supporters. Some of whom used to be Clinton camp followers... unfortunatly for her, it was Bubba they were following not her. While Obamy is a lightweight, he is dangerous in his own right. I mean, he has a heck of a gimmick. LOL
"Are you supporting anyone yet?" ...
Yes, I'm supporting the Republican nominee. :)
The choice wasn't as clear cut for me as it was before the 2000 elections. I hadn't given GWB the first thought as a possible candidate but about a year before the convention I heard him give a speech in California, saw him in a whole new light and liked him immediately. Believed he would win from that day forward.
I can't support Ron Paul or Huckabee. I don't trust McCain. I like Rudy but his personal history is just too messy. Duncan Hunter is a solid conservative. Although he can't win at the top of the ticket I think he would be a fine VP candidate. Fred Thompson is another good conservative and if had the energy he had 10 years ago I'd actively support him, but he doesn't. That is hard for me to say because I've met him on several occasions over the years, watched his career evolve and I like him. So, by the process of elimination it looks like Romney is the one I can support for the nomination. That being said, I'll support the nominee. To do otherwise would be just too disasterous.
Unconscionable. Thoroughly disgusting.
I'm so shocked. LOL
Cardy, just because we have "moonshiners" it doesn't mean we actually drink that stuff LOL
But ours only lacks the Revenuers label.
But the law does not extend to the villages or beyond Kabul.
