That stove sorta looks like an Aga, doesn’t it? Although, Agas aren’t usually that sleeker and contemporary looking.

"I can wear skirts sizes 2 - 4 but if I were any thinner at my height, it probably wouldnt be good.... "Indeed. IIRC, you're around 6' tall? I'm 5'8" and a size 4 usually but I have a few 2s and a couple of 6s. When the 4s get a little loose and everyone starts telling me that I'm too thin, thats when I hit the ice cream store. LOL
Its good to see you, BQ :)

"Pomfret, Vermont"Wonder if residents of Pomfret are asked if the town is named after french fries (Pomme Frite) :)

This place gets my vote for one of the spookiest anywhere, no matter what the season.
Manchac Swamp, Louisiana
According to local legend, an imprisoned voodoo queen cast a curse on this area sometime around the turn of the last century, resulting in the disappearance of three hamlets in a hurricane in 1915. Occasionally, a corpse still surfaces in this otherwise untouched bird sanctuary. Torchlit, swampboat tours are available through these eerie waters amid the ancient cypress trees draped in Spanish Moss and along side patient aligators but buyer beware.... that far-off howl you hear just might be the rou-ga-rou, the Cajun version of the Wolfman. edited

"Then CONGRATULATIONS! You qualify for beach duty as full time scenery"FOFLOL. I wouldn't be as sensational as your recent beach discovery.

The first settler was probably Captain John Sabin, who built a house in 1696 which served as an outpost against the Indians. The settlement was known by the Indian name Massamugget until 1713 when the town was incorporated, and later called Pomfret, named after Pontefract in Yorkshire, England. Pomfret is probably best known historically for the Wolf Den where General Israel Putnam killed the last wolf in Connecticut.

With few exceptions, this is a pretty cool list of honorees this year..
White House names 2007 'Medal of Freedom' recipientsWASHINGTON (AFP) The White House on Monday announced the recipients of the 2007 Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest US civilian honor, including a Cuban dissident, Liberia's president, and a beloved US author.
US President George W. Bush was to honor Cuban anti-abortion and pro-democracy activist Oscar Elias Biscet, Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, and "To Kill A Mockingbird" novelist Harper Lee at a ceremony on November 5, the White House said.
The other five winners include the 1992 Nobel economics prize winner Gary Becker; Human Genome Project leader Francis Collins; US civil rights leader Benjamin Hooks; former House Foreign Affairs committee chairman Henry Hyde; and groundbreaking television executive Brian Lamb.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom, established in 1963, is awarded for an honoree's "especially meritorious contribution" to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, or for their accomplishments in the areas of culture or "other significant public or private endeavors."
A rare recent (2005) photograph of the reclusive author, Harper Lee
According to the citation the reclusive author has been honoured for "an outstanding contribution to America's literary tradition. At a critical moment in our history, her beautiful book, To Kill a Mockingbird, helped focus the nation on the turbulent struggle for equality."

It looks just looks like an electric stove top to me.
Long, long ago when I was young, handsome and fifteen years old - I used to sit on an Aga late at night, in the Manor kitchen and chat up a lonely 17 year old. Poor girl, miles from anywhere with just old people around her and lecherous boys.
That was an anthracite burning Aga which was filled once a day an night time so that it was really hot for the rest of the day. I had two large insulated stainless steel lids to keep the heat in and the hot plate provided a warm seat for pressing my suit. :)
This is a pic of the cooker in 1934, but by 1940 the spindly legs on the left had gone. The new cooker had two full ovens on the left side too and cover in light yellow vitrious enamel
The little dolls house cooker shows the color of the enamel but, as mention, ours had stainless steel tops.

I put it in the freezer and it came out with the right density, so I tried some.
That one lemon seem to overwhelm the mild taste of the apples I would recommend that you just squeeze a little lemon juice into mixture.
Membrillo must have a stronger taste than apples.
