I think one of the Miss Universe candidates was a lawyer.

Judging by her swimsuit competition she would have won over all the male jurors and judges without much problem.

You are right that the white and red vertical stripes with the George cross on the left is the Maltese flag.

But, the Maltese ensign is the merchant or commercial flag flown on boats and as the logo on commercial Maltese aircraft. It is a white Maltese cross on a red background. Many countries, including Britain, have a special ensign for their vessels. White ensign for the British Navy and the Red ensign for their Merchant fleet, neither of which use the Union Jack which is the National Flag except as an appendage.

By that picture I did not mean to imply that that was a Maltese Flag. These were the Banners of the Knights which came for many countries and each had their own banner.

Fighting the Turks of the Ottoman empire was just an extension of the Crusades, or rather a reverse crusade.

Nice pics of the past. Unfortunately, just North of you (and in the Netherlands as well), Europe is in flames from a certain religion that wants to take over, and the ruling elite of Europe just can’t comprehend the evil it is turning a blind eye to . It seems that most of Europe is sick, tired, and incapable of handling its present problems: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1931209/posts

Amen to all that. I used to go to Europe several times a year and wished I had time to go more often, even thought about moving there for a while. But, I’ve been so disgusted by the things I’ve witnessed for the past decade or more that I now have no desire to go.

It will be interesting to see how the new French administration deals with this newest outrage from the religion of perpetual "peace".

Dang, I really wanted to visit England, Italy, and France again, yet much of Old Europe has become so insanely dark in its desire to submit to the multi culturism of radical Islam, I am not sure we will make it any time soon.

I have a feeling Sarkosy (sp) will hang tough but the biggest problem for him will be France’s history of surrendering. It is so ingrained that no one understands how to do otherwise.

You’ll be able to revisit the places of Old Europe that you love again someday. In the meantime, if you haven’t done so already, check out some of the former eastern block countries, or the new Europe.

I think he has the right stuff, but we shall see. I just read a novel by Daniel Silva called “The Secret Servant”. It has a backdrop of Europe’s moose limb problem, most specifically the Netherlands that is very depressing and unfortunately very real. I highly reccomend it.

The major cities of western Europe have long been overrun and overwhelmed by muslims. They allowed it to get so badly out of control that now they’ve begun to look and feel like occupied countries.

No, but I heard an audio of his acceptance speech and it was pretty awesome.

Hey.....on another deeply important subject, is LSU going to beat the convicts on Saturday?

Yes!

I tell ya, there ain't no joy in Mudville this week. Those kids took it hard, so I expect Tennessee will have all they can handle... I just hope the banged up and brusied ones are well enough to play.
