Reagan was the best and Fred is nothing like him.

I should cc: JimRob on this, what you said. I would vote for anyone to beat that hag or any other Dem hack.

I am waiting and watching. I like all 3 of the front runners for different reasons. All of them are way ahead of the hag. Heck, even our back bench is better than she is. I wish you could combine the strengths of our candidates (heck, they would then be Reagan 2), but that will likely happen with the coice of VP.

Anyone, exluding Ron Paul, from our bench is better than the hag.

The Clintons have some machines behind them that accomplish things that amaze. I don’t know how to put it, I just have to say that the likelihood of the hag getting in should scare every conscious American incontinent, and I’m not talking geography.

I disagree. To me they seem more like the casting call for "The Wizard of Oz".

Al Gore/John Kerry as the Tin Man
John Edwards as the Cowardly Lion, (When he was getting his mane curled.)
Barack Hussein Obama as the Scarecrow.

Am I missing anyone?

Well, to a shark they’re human...certainly more tasty than the wizened grisly hag.

I'm not saying they have something to offer of substance.

But she.....the one who should not be named.........

Is truly a deranged, sorry excuse at best.

Oh they're human.

Obama is naive and silly.

Edwards is a slick pretty boy who should have stuck with playing Elmer Gantry.

She on the other hand.................

Demonic.

"With both of em, it’s all fashion, etc. Confusin. They are up to sumpin, they always are."

Funny you should mention that. I was just thinkin' today I might need to ask for a little advice about what to wear to a Christmas ball. It's not that I'm not fashion conscious; it's just that I don't have much call to dress up for an event. I understand that there is no "standard" for this event,so there is some flexibility.

Okay ladies; here's your challenge....and I KNOW you're up to it, seein's how y'all are ALWAYS dressing up for various affairs. While there is no set standard, here are a few considerations on which to base your suggestions:

1. Christmas activities and ambiance here tend to have very much of a Victorian theme.

2. It needs to be dressy enough for the ball, but comfortable enough for dinner before and for a long, leisurely stroll after.

3. It should be classy, a little elegant and tastefully sexy.

4. I would LOVE red. Not an absolute must, but definitely my preference.

5. I've considered a bustier or corset dress. I've always wanted to wear something like that, but wouldn't know where to look..other than ebay, but that is something that would almost HAVE to be tried on.

6. I definitely want bare shoulders...straps or strapless.

7. It has to be petite. I don't have enough time to have alterations done.

8. It has to be affordable....AND FINALLY

9. I have less than 2 weeks to find something.

Your mission, ladies, should you choose to accept it, is to give me some ideas I can work with. I am SO out of my element!

Oh, yeah....one other thing; it has to go with either gold or pewter shoes. I have some gorgeous, dressy shoes in those colors that I never get a chance to wear.

Ok, sweet... I accept the challenge. LOL I found loads of pretty dresses but that petite thing is a problem. If all else fails, you might want to consider getting something sleek. sleek is easier to hem, and then get someone to hem it for you. Any good cleaner, or dress shop in your area should have some names of people who do alterations. Either color of shoes should work with all of these. Also, if some of these are close to what you had in mind but not exactly the right color, style or price, maybe you can print copies of the best ones and take them shopping with you. If these options don't fall in within the budget you had in mind send me a freepmail and I'll go from there. :) Hope you like these...

First, Saks...

Not red for a great strapless evening dress, made of jersey so it will skim along your body, ABS does some great, nearly seamless knock-offs of costly designer gowns. I think this one is taken from Dior

Another black one.. sorry, but it is a pretty dress, strapless with lace bodice, a little pricier, made by Tadashi. I have a couple of Tadashi dresses and their bodice is constructed very well, works well for women who are better endowed than some. :) See

Ok, a red strapless, also made by ABS... nice asymetrical rushing at the waist but I'm not wild about the line of the skirt

Not strapless but a nice, red, body skimming halter dress with a great back.. or rather no back LOL

Love the lines on this one and I like the silvery color, too. It also comes in hot pink, although, I'm not sure how that shade of pink would work with your coloring

Ok, it isn't red but I'm voting for this one... I think the color would be perfect with your hair and skin color. It would elongate your torso and the bodice has beautiful detailing

Next, Macy's
Ok, this one is the best price yet, not strapless but it is red, I think it is a little too busy in the midriff for any "petite" figure except perhaps a very longish or slender one.

edress
Not strapless but definately red :) The sleek lines tend to give the impression of height and the price is the best yet

Another possibility, form fitting red with a little bit of Glitz

Neiman-Marcus
Neiman-Marcus prices are usually higher but I found a few in a moderate price range

Not strapless, not red but definately eye-catching. I'd probably grab this one up for the sleek styling alone. The gold and champagne combination might work for you colorwise. Metalics remain very hot this year.

This pretty, red, silk chiffon halter dress works well for a petite woman if you plan to do much dancing. Strapless dress are wonderful looking but you do have to watch it when you lift your arms to slow dance :)

"I accept the challenge."

Somehow, I knew you couldn't resist!

"Any good cleaner, or dress shop in your area should have some names of people who do alterations."

I DO have a lady who does alterations for me that is just fantastic; however, it is a little rushed to try and have her do anything very involved, assuming I find something that requires alteration.

That last one is very pretty. I also like the Macy's one...the one you said might be too busy. I don't know....with the sleek line, sometimes that rouching is just the effect needed, especially since I don't have a well-defined natural waistline. With the high heels (and both pairs of those shoes are at least 4 inches), I think something like that would work.

I do have to be careful with shades of red and pink. They can be my best....or worst colors. I can't do a real bright, cherry or fire engine red, but subdue it with brown tones, or lean a little towards orange, and it's one of my best colors. Same with pink. I can do light pink...as long as it doesn't go from light to pale or from pink to lilac. I can also do a soft, dusty pink or a true, neon pink, but as soon as the pink inclines toward more purple tones, forget it! My best "pink" is really peach.

Oh....perhaps I should mention that I was really thinking of a shorter length, although that's not an absolute.

I was having coffee with a friend this morning and she was telling me about a consignment store in downtown Branson that has an awesome array of evening wear that is barely worn and very reasonably priced. She said this is because a lot of the people who are in the shows there take their stuff to this shop. Anyway, we're going to try and take an afternoon and run up there one afternoon next week. Sounds like fun to me. Wanna come??? LOL!
