There's been some complaining on the original thread about hijacking, so I'm offering a chance for you guys to continue the debate without all the distracting comments. I'd suggest not pinging anyone until the debate is finished.

Dave ignored the whuppin' he got from Ryan. Perhaps he was not even aware of the subtleties of Ryan's posts, and the non-sequiturs he posted in reply.

DLR: This is an intriguing question, one that I haven't been asked, nor have I ever seen addressed before. The plain answer is, I don't know. I wasn't there. Some creationists speculate that in settling down for the long haul, God caused many of the animals to hibernate. Other creationists speculate that insects don't technically qualify as creatures that breathe through nostrils, and so didn't qualify as guests on the Ark. Some suggest they could have survived on large masses of debris such as plant matter. It's possible their eggs could have survived until the flood waters receded.
It seems an altogether minor point to get hung up on, since there is no clear answer. Obviously, they're still around.
