Unfortunately, Ellen has gotten a reputation in Hollywood for being a bunny-hugger. Even her American Express commercial features her love of animals. I am sure people are pestering her every day to take unwanted animals off their hands.

If Ellen were smart (hey, I said if!...), she would make an arrangement with a first class local shelter in LA to take care of any animal she refers to them, in return for a sizable donation and favorable publicity. She could then make sure that her assistant has a ready supply of cards. Then if anybody pesters her about taking an animal, she could just fob them off on her assistant who could give them a referral. Quick, neat, easy and responsible. What's not to love?
