Step #1 has been accomplished, time to bring the Big Red back to where it needs to be!
Kansas City sports radio speculating Callahan is next (even after signing that nice contract).
Frank Solich is probably avaiable.
The rumor mill is going crazy here. Tom Osborne is likely to be named the interim AD shortly. If the rumor mill is correct (and it has been so far) Callahan and Cosgrove will be out and the search for a new coach will begin.
An empty stadium at the start of the second half of the last home game was a message that something needs to be done now.
I didn’t see the game, but the ESPN News sports-Barbie mentioned the 1997 team was in attendance at the last game. True?
Yup, Saturday was a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the 97 Cahmpions..if the guys can’t get up to play with those guys on the sidelines then Callahan has LOST the team!
Saturday was pathetic. Horribly embarrassing. Callahan has lost the team. I feel sorry for the players, they need leadership and coaches they believe in...they don’t have that now.
This thing is sure moving much faster than I thought it would. However, that’s good as I think our chance to attract a good coach is enhanced by an early start on the search.
When all of the news comes out about what is wrong with NU. we will find a huge disconnect between the coaches and players. These players are good athletes and could not be that bad if they had real leadership.
Just got this story from a link off Drudge - sure hope it is true:

I agree 100%. My inside sources tell me that there is a disconnect between players and coaches AND that the coaches are not playing the best players. Geez, I feel like a gossip hound...
Just heard a report on the radio that according to parents of a player Cosgrove is also gone. Whooo wah! We’ll see how this all shakes out but I bet it ain’t over yet.
Pearlman during press conference; decision to sack Pederson was made prior to last weekend’s game. Athletic department’s unrest with staff.
In other words, all the things we’ve been hearing about people not wanting to work under Pederson are true.
Pearlman has talked to Tom Osbourne to alert him to this decision but says beyond that they haven’t talked seriously about any other matter. (Yeah, right.) But says they’ll speak to him seriously now about how to move the program forward.
The Big Red will rise again.
It is like history repeating it’self. Callahan inherited a good NFL team and went along with them to loose in the super bowl.
The next year he lost his players because they hated him and they quit on him. I guess history does repeat.
So when does Syracuse get to fire their athletic director? And while they’re at it, can they fire their head football coach too?
fyi, Tom Osborne has been named the new Athletic Director at Nebraska...news conference at 5:15pm CST...
