Humans could marry robots within the century. And consummate those vows."This is old news."

Yes! “Cherry 2000” was one of my all-time favorite sci-fi B-movies of the Eighties.
Perhaps Melanie Griffith’s finest moment as a leading lady.
Lot of good actors paying their dues: “Trancers” (Linda Hunt), “Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Syn,” “Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone” (Molly Ringwald & Peter Strauss), “The Ice Pirates” (Angelica Huston & Robert Urich).
But that aside, this is a serious issue, Re: “AI.”
There won’t be any of us left if this comes to pass.

A hundred years from now, only robots will marry. Humans will consider marriage obsolete.

Why not? If two individuals of the same sex can “marry” each other. The door is open for anything and everything.
