I'm requesting coded priveleged access to the Hive's networked-iso-linear-megaQuads of information.
The CPU will be mounted on a dual-use Celeraon/Pentiuam S370 slot1 adapter. According to my measurements I have approximately 57mm of clearance to the first SDMIMM slot. Don't even respond with any solution that is longer than 57mm (its out of the question).
At this time I wish I could find a Blizzard S370-L (but alas such is not to be).
I'm quite fond of PM's notifying me to auctions of said component that may be appropriate. I relish information pertaining to technical details as they may pertain to such antiquated and obsolete equipment.
I, from the bottom of my heart, and my P3V4X motherboard, would thank you from the bottom of their Apollo Pro133a (694X system controller "Northbridge", and 596B ("Southbridge") chips hearts.
THere is that "Spire" CPU cooler out there that is truly sweet. But it only mounts on 468 chips.
Presently I'm running on the aforementioned mobo a PC100 PIII1000 and 3x256MB of Crucial PC133 CL2 ECC SDRAM @3/4 system/mem speed.
Any constructive input that you may present, I believe will be beneficial to me in this regard. No smart alecky comments are being solicited at this time.
You are NO fun! :)
Yeah, I KNOW.
FYI: the solution requires a three pin connector to the mobo that will not draw any more than 6w (@12v). I don’t care if a a Molex connnector is also required, but fundamentally the solution requires software fan-speed control. Asus is good in that regard, but I will settle for either MotherBoardMonitor, or SpeedFan; I’d rather Asus PCProbe).
Whooooooooooooosh.
Right on over my head.
:)
VANTEC CCK-6012 60mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

The one above is a smaller form factor that should fit your cpu card. It’s short, so should fit easily in the space before your memory. The one below would probably cool better, and though it’s a bit taller, it should still fit at 44mm high. The only thing is that it’s a bit wider top to bottom when mounted on your cpu card so you would need to check the specs to make sure it wouldn’t interfere with the slot.
I would probably recommend the Volcano. I’ve used them before and they are excellent coolers. I’ve used Vantec for video cooling and they are great. I just haven’t used them for cpu cooling.
Thermaltake VOLCANO 10+ 60mm 2 Ball Cooling Fan/Heatsink
60x69x44 69mm would be top to bottom on your card.

Then what's the point of the thread?

‘Preciate the replies and what not.
Stay true.
Over...
Thanx for your input.
There are literally billions of articles all around on the net on all that, eh?
I want to know what worked well for you? And don't hold back on the secret formula either, i.e, this worka if and unlesw you do rhia otherwise you're screwed.
I know 'bout you guys with the secret formula (slot 1 PIII CPU). That's right, you're the ones that would laugh at us despicable cretins having to deal with PIII's (& slotkets), and what not.
