I am not so sure LB was well known before ANS at the Derby. He was a nobody photog sending some reports to USA Today is all and .. interestingly, those DROPPED off and Thinned greatly after 2000.

Missed reporting even on the Derby altogether in 2001 for USA.
By 2002 one article each year to USA for the whole year, those were always Derby articles.

By 2003!!! Year of the CA apt (on the SAME street as where he rented in 2005)
...he is writing about ANS at the Derby for USA .. and even puts a few mentions in one article! He goes from calling her Anna Nicole Smith to Anna Nicole. 2003 was ANS first Derby. This was one of her E! episodes. Last of the second season maybe?
