Another childhood show to be made into a crappy movie...

Xer Ping

Ping list for the discussion of the politics and social (and sometimes nostalgic) aspects that directly effects Generation Reagan / Generation-X (Those born from 1965-1981) including all the spending previous generations are doing that Gen-X and Y will end up paying for.

Hey, now. Today’s “crappy movie” writer is tomorrow’s “Nobel Prize Laureate”.

One that I think would be a good movie would be "Hogan's Heroes". My cast selections:

Col. Hogan - Harrison Ford
Col. Klink - Robert Duvall
Sgt. Schultz - John Goodman
Maj. Hochstetter - James Woods
Sgt. Newkirk - Mel Gibson
Sgt. Kinchloe - Samuel L. Jackson
Cpl. LeBeau - Gerard Depardieu
Sgt. Carter - Ben Stiller
Gen. Burkhalter - Robert DeNiro
Helga - Paris Hilton
Frau Linkmeyer (cameo) - Hillary Clinton

What years was this show on? I heard about it, but never watched it. I watched D&D, Thundar, and Superfriends, mainly. Pac-Man was cool for a couple of episodes, too.

I was already a big boy and too old for such childishness by that time.

I do however recall watching “Galaxy High” on the USS DALE mess deck TV of a lazy Saturday morning when I had duty section and was stuck on board. A live-action version of the story of a couple of earth kids going to a gifted and talented program with a high-school full of aliens might be an interesting twist on the “Men in Black” format.

Furthermore, the cartoon plots always had a moral for the kidz a la “Fat Albert.”
