Not many birds or critters around right now, I have to go looking for new things to shoot at. These are seed cones on a Southern Magnolia tree.

So I’m not the only one. Shooting at those seed cones as a kid later earned me an expert rifleman ribbon.

Great pics. Our Magnolia has reached over 50’ tall and is covered with these seed pods. Can’t shoot at them, too close to the neighbor’s house. The squirrels are having a feast of these.
