But Hunter folks attacking the front-runners is no different than Rudy supporters attacking Mitt/Fred, Mitt supporters attacking Rudy/Fred, and Fred supporters attacking Rudy/Mitt.

That would be more reasonable if we ever saw the Hunter cheerleaders ever take on Romney or Giuliani. But they don't, or at least, only do so seldom. They're gunning specifically for Thompson, over and over.

We don’t hit at Hunter much for the reasons you state, mostly, and the fact that many of us like him because he has been consistent, but he needs a lot of help to make "electable" and I am not sure there is time.

It is because the two of them are the closet in philosophies among the field. The difference is Fred has been in higher profile fights that he had to work through deals etc. so he has some strikes against him in the area of philosophical purity. The higher up you are the more hits you take

In being in the HOR Duncan has been able to maintain at least more purity in his conservatism. Still doesn’t push the lever for him, but it explains why Duncan fans are so harsh on FDT, he doesn’t let him stick out as much anymore as the most conservative in the race.
