Forget secession, that doesn’t seem to work (it’s bloody and messy, costs thousands of lives,...Why don't we see this in divorce? What man says to his soon to be ex-wife "I know you think I'm 'boring' and don't make enough money, but I really want to keep you here on the couch eating bon bons and getting fat. If you leave I will forcibly drag you back and chain you to that sofa and force you to watch Oprah and Lifetime."?

That's more my point, cutting the country to ribbons is the only way currently to achieve getting rid of federal giveaways. We'd have to do some serious cuting and chopping to get a demographic that wouldn't support welfare programs. And you're right, it ain't just the blue states.
