10. Portland Trail Blazers, 2000 Western Conference finals For most of Game 7, it appeared as if the Blazers' opponent the L.A. Lakers was heading for a spot on this list.
9. Greg Norman, 1996 MastersThroughout his career, Norman has earned a well-deserved reputation for coming up short in majors. But what happened to him at Augusta National on this April Sunday was brutal, even by his standards.
8. Boston Red Sox, 1978-Bucky "Bleeping" Dent gets most of the credit for burying the Red Sox with his three-run homer
7. Jana Novotna, 1993 Wimbledon- One minute, Novotna was serving to go up 5-1 over Steffi Graf in the third and deciding set of the Wimbledon finals. The next, it seemed, she was sobbing uncontrollably on the Duchess of Kent's shoulder.
6. Brooklyn Dodgers, 1951-The most famous call in baseball history (if not all of sports history) would never have happened if the Bums...
T4. Philadelphia Phillies, 1964 and New York Mets, 2007-OK, so maybe we're taking the coward's way out on this one...
3. Houston Oilers, 1992 AFC wild card game - "We choked," Oilers safety Cris Dishman would later say. "We choked as a team. We choked as management. Everybody in this organization just choked." Well put.
2. Jean Van de Velde, 1999 British Open- Jean Van de Velde's victory at Carnoustie was so certain, so unavoidable, they were already engraving his name into the Claret Jug.
1. New York Yankees, 2004 ALCS- When you're the first team to blow a 3-0 series lead in 101 years of postseason history, that pretty much qualifies you for the top spot on our list.

1974 - USC 55, Notre Dame 24 In one of the most notable comebacks in college football history, the 1974 Trojans erased a 24-point deficit to beat defending national champion Notre Dame, 55-24, in the Coliseum.
Jan. 2005 USC 55 vs. Oklahoma 19 --Last season, Matt Leinart and Southern California had to share the national championship. This year, they left no doubt who is No. 1.
1942 (NHL) Toronto Maple Leafs, blew 3-0 lead to lose to Detroit 4 games to 3.
1986 Red Sox lose @ Mets Game 6 (capped by Bill Buckner error).
1986 Red Sox lose @ Mets Game 6 (capped by Bill Buckner error).
Cosmic payback for 1986 World Series. “Watch him throw a wild pitch!” said a guest, and it went to heck from there.

"Two more minutes of suffering. Mamma mia!" cried out a commentator on TMC TV halfway into the stoppage time that saw France tie the score seconds before the clock was to run out.
;^)
Wasn’t it just last year that the Mets entered the playoffs with a very good team and with every expectation of winning, only to be destroyed in the first round? Help me out here, am I right about that, or am I mistaken?
What about the original comeback, Bobby Thompson and the NY Giants working their way back over the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1951, much to my father’s chagrin. The Dodgers were up 13.5 games on August 13th.
Additionally, 1998, Jets 40 - Dolphins 37, Jets were down 30-7 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Oops, I can’t read. it’s already #6.
1951 is Item six on the list.
Did you have to remind us twice?
Boston Tour Bus Driver (2004) - This new bridge is referred to by the locals as the 'Billy Buckner Bridge'. The tall tower, the two spindly legs and just like that baseball everything, passes right between 'em.
Poor Billy, he was a great player. Sad he is long remembered for that. Yet he is still loved.
Not like that cheating A-hole Bobby Thompson. ;)
Did it come across that way? maybe for balance I should have included this one:
2006 Oregon state 33, USC 31--Oregon State capitalized on four turnovers to upset the University of Southern California, snapping USC's 27-game Pac-10 winning streak and breaking the national championship race wide open.
Nah, on second thought I like it better as it is.
;)
It wasn't last year, as the Mets beat the Dodger's in three straight, then lost to the better team, the Cards. Maybe it was before that?
New York Yankees, 2004 ALCS
No question this was the ultimate. The miracle that turned the series around, according to Kevin Millar who was on the Sox team that year was when they started passing out Jack Daniels in the dugout during the games. After that they couldn’t lose !!!
2005 - UEFA Champions League Final -- Liverpool FC vs. AC Milan In one of the most shocking collapses in soccer history, AC Milan--who lead 3-nil at one point in the game--got tied by Liverpool FC in the span of eight minutes' play and Liverpool FC won on penalty kicks 3-2.
That game has got to be one of the greatest one team collapses I've ever seen in one game.
Yes, that was stunning, considering how Milan was dominating the match.
Shevchenko scored the 4-0 goal early in the 2nd, but it was wrongly annulled due to a non-existent offside. The collapse followed soon after.
Full credit to Milan (especially the erratic GK Dida) for rebounding 2 years later.
For four seasons Alessandrelli warmed the bench, never playing a minute while backing up the great Dino Zoff. He was sent on the pitch in a gesture of appreciation by Manager Giovanni Trapattoni 25 minutes before the end of Juventus-Avellino, with Juventus ahead 3-0. Incredibly, the contest ended 3-3.
Well yes but he has it reversed. In 1942 the Red Wings collapsed and the Toronto Maple Leafs came back from a 3-0 deficit to win it.
